My first foreign holiday for many years. Also travelled solo for first time. Should not have worried as all went very well and enjoyed a fantastic well run holiday. Planning the next one!!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
How to decide? The challenge of a completely new experience, the fantastic views, the insight into the past in Pompeii and the realisation that even the rain did not dampen my enjoyment and achievement.
What did you think of your group leader?
Christine was friendly, organised, professional and a very considerate leader. She made the experience enjoyable for all and is obviously very popular with the locals
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't be afraid to travel solo;the trip notes are very helpful and so is a walking pole on some of the slopes and steps.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The whole experience reenergised me and has left me looking forward to the next experience - must write my bucket list!

Our group was excellent company so the fact that the walking was very slow didn't really matter, as with really interesting chat and amazing scenery, I had a really good time!

What did you think of your group leader?

Absolutely exemplary.  Christine managed to combine fantastic leadership skills whilst somehow, very cleverly, making everyone feel that she was very much part of the group!  She was very in tune with each individual, extremely informative and well prepared and great fun.  I have nothing but praise for her.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

If you're not used to walking with poles and are fit and healthy, then don't bother to bring any.  You can borrow one from the hotel, if you change your mind.  I didn't think that any of the walks warranted the use of poles apart from for those participants with knee or hip problems.

I wore walking boots for each of our 6 days and that worked out fine!

The evening meals are enormous and you never know how many courses will be served so resist the temptation to fill up on bread with the first course!

No need to take anything 'dressy, as the whole holiday is very casual and relaxed.

Since so many parts of Pompeii are currently closed, we had about 3 hours there, then visited Herculaneum which was really good to help us to see how different the 2 Roman sites were.  On our 'day off', we ascended Vesuvius and then some of us packed in Ravello too, just to make sure we'd seen everything on our lists!

If you're looking for a bit of early spring weather and greenery at the end of February, you may be disappointed!  For our trip, the landscape was every bit as brown as the UK and we had snow flurries on our first day!

An excellent week with a good mix of fantastic walks combined with a visit to Pompeii and Vesuvius, and a great family run hotel with superb food - what's not to like?

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The views on the walks were stunning, and being able to visit both Pompeii and Herculaneum was a bonus.
What did you think of your group leader?
Barbara was an excellent leader as there was quite a mixture of walking ability and she managed to get everyone to the end of each walk, or at least to a suitable place to catch a bus!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Do try to visit Herculaneum on your spare day - all the group combined it with an afternoon in Naples as the weather was not good enough to go to Capri or Ravello, and enjoyed both. We had the same guide at both archaelogical sites and he was well worth the extra cost.  Poles are very useful and good rain gear essential as we had a couple of days of heavy rain when we were there in late March.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The pace is leisurely but take note of the number of steps involved - at least they're mainly heading down and not up!

A really fabulous week in a beautiful part of Italy, walking every day along the stunning Amalfi coastline with a lovely group of people.  I couldn't think of a better way to spend a holiday!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
We were so lucky to have such a sunny week in February, so the views were terrific each day.  Our visit to Pompeii was incredibly interesting and this was followed in the afternoon by a trip up the snow-capped Mount Vesuvius. Perhaps the best moment of the week was when we arrived at the beautiful waterfalls during our long walk through the forest and down the very steep hillsides en route to the little town of Amalfi.  The waterfalls were breathtaking and we could have stayed there all day!!
What did you think of your group leader?
Our guide Christine was superb! She was absolutely lovely all week, very jolly and chatty and she took every opportunity to show us maps of the area and keep us informed about all aspects of the Amalfi Coast.  Her local knowledge was incredible and she really looked after us brilliantly at all times.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Be prepared to have lots of fun and don't forget your camera. Go with a huge appetite, the food at the hotel is amazing and the local red wine goes down a treat! Make sure you have good walking boots as there are long walks up and downhill every day and lots of steps.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I have been on lots of Exodus holidays already and this is certainly one of the most scenic and beautiful places I have experienced so far.  The little town of Ravello (above Amalfi) is gorgeous, with beautiful little courtyards and exquisite gardens.  We visited this on our free day and is definitely on the 'must see' list.  I can understand why this is one of Exodus' most popular trips.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Walking through the ruins of Pompeii felt like talking a trip back to the ancient and elegant Roman era: A truly inspirational moment followed by an exciting walk along the crater of Mount Vesuvius. The beauty of the sleeping (yet active) volcano is something that I haven't forgotten!
What did you think of your group leader?
Christine's knolwedge of the local area was impressive... her passion and expertise contributed to make trip a very enjoyable experience for evryone. Her attention to detail, humour and positive and calm attitude make her a perfect group leader!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

The terrain can be quite difficult in some of the walks. Walking poles can be helpful is some cases! Although other members of the group found some of the walks quite challenging, I believe they were all perfectly achievable with a minimun level of fitness. The pace is leisurely and lots of breaks are taken so the less fit walkers shouldn't worry!

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Be ready to eat a lot...!  The food is delicious and during the cooking and pizza shows you can truly experience the Italian cusine with all your senses. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and attentive and they cater for any need.. just ask !

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The walk from Bomerano to Amalfi and to Positano, both had beautiful scenery . Loved visiting Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvio and Herculeum - nice break from the walking and very interesting.
What did you think of your group leader?
The group leader was knowledgeable and approachable however, he was not familiar with everything that was happening at this time of year.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Bring lots of layers and not very heavy clothes as it can get quite warm.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The hotel was excellent, Staff was friendly and very accomodating and the food was delicious.

Our first time walking abroad in a group ,but we needn,t have been apprehensive as it worked out fine.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Without doubt the trip to Vesuvious and walk round crater, awesome!

The walk down to Amalfi through the woods was the highlight of the varied walks.

Also, even in the off season Amalfi, Ravenelo and Positano were busy without being crowded,( Except the 5.30pm

Bus up to Bomerano from Amalfi-always packed!

What did you think of your group leader?
Albert was great,so laid back he was almost horizontal ! But ensured we were all sorted on our day off etc.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Go for it,we were a mix of couples, male singles and female singles and it gelled well. We were incredably

lucky with weather, sunshine every day and just rain twice overnight, but be warned if sun not shining its chilly!

Local Sieta buses are easy to use so if you want to explore, just remember to have your ticket before boarding.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Mainly pluses for our trip. The couple of minuses are that walks were a little too leisurley for us,with 7 or eight mini stops on each walk which meant we didn,t work as hard as we would have liked.

Also the blanket menu each evening ( Pizza one night, Clams another etc ) We understand that helps to keep costs down but a little more variety would have been nice. Bomerano was lovely for a coffee or drink when back early, but if you are not into early nights or playing cards then there was not to much else to do

All in all we had no regrets about going, and are already looking at Tuscany for our next exodus trip.

Warm regards to everybody in group for making it special.
