A truely spectacular coastline

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
It's a very varied trip combining scenic spleandor with the appeal of places of genuine historical interest. Highlights for me were:
1) View of the coast towards Capri from the Capo Moro
2) Pompeii
3) Amalfi, especially The Cathedral of St Andrew.
4) The boat trip to Capri from Amalfi, passing Positano. A group of us did this on our free day. This is easily the best way to really see the coast and the unique character of the towns that cling to its hillsides.
Great guy. Steve looked after us well, always taking care to keep us together and safe. He gave good advice on the pace to take and the amount of water to drink (we were walking in temperatures of > 35C). He was considerate of eveyone's physical ability, even entertained us with classical music!

The limestone scenery is spectacular but is hard on the feet so proper walking boots/shoes are essential. Ordinary trainers will be shreaded by the limestone. The terrain is rugged and steep in places, and the steps hard on the knees. So if you have knee problems, a pair of walking sticks are essential. Although many in my party wore tee shirts and shorts, one or two of the walks were along narrow paths with brammbles, stinging nettles and thorn bushes which made me very glad I wore long trousers and a long sleeved shirt!

I felt that only half a day in Pompeii was inadequate. The guide books I've read clearly state that a day is a minimum for this place given its size. Personally, I could have happily forgone the visit to Vesuvius to see Pompeii properly. Perhaps you could give people the option to stay in Pompeii to be picked-up by the coach on the return from Vesuvius?
The Hotel in Bomerano is lovely, but the 40min trip on the local bus back from Amalfi in the evening isn't! It can be very crowded with passengers returning on ferries and also very intimidating when people are desperate to get on. I wonder if it would not be best to provide extra transport especially when there are two groups staying in Bomerano?

The fantastic and varied walks, with some of the most breath taking views! Being outdoors, in beautiful surroundings, great weather, stunning views and good company, what more could you want!
Also one point that was such a pleasant surprise was the excellent food in the hotel. All ingredients were local and the pasta was made fresh from scratch every night. Honestly having such fresh organic food everyday in itself was an experience! I think the family run nature of the hotel was so welcoming, and we all felt at home there almost instantly.
Guy was just great. Though English, he had an Italian background and had an inherent knowledge of Italian life, culture and history. He had done the Amalfi tour so much, he was practically one of the family, with the family that ran our wonderful Hotel Due Torri. Guy was both greatly organised and also very flexible, even organising an optional night to a string quartet and dinner in neighbouring Ravello. He was also extremely helpful, giving us his own personalised notes on the attractions available on the free day. I think his greatest strength was how approachable he was, always available for questions, advice or even just a chat.

DO NOT FORGET THE CAMERA!! The views on the walks are simply stunning. Make sure and bring plenty batteries and memory card space! For those joining the group on land as I did, make sure and have the Hotel number handy if the bus you get, decides last minute not to go all the way to Bomerano, as mine did, hehe, and they will happily collect you! Also bring your own suncream, I had been in Rome before the trip and mine had burst in my bag on the way over and I found it difficult to find suncream in Rome, since I guess the Italians don't really have a need to buy it! Also for those that aren't fans of very hot weather, like myself, I suggest travelling in Sept, still fantastic weather and being on the coast means there's a refreshing breeze, also it's less touristy. Also make sure and bring proper walking boots, and have them fitted instore when buying (not online). One of our group had bad fitting boots (not enough space left for movement when going downhill etc) and it ruined her walking experience as she had to pull out of the walks mid week due to cut toes/nails. The level of walking was great, we had a varied group of 20s to 50s and everything inbetween and both the terrain and pace seemed to suit, the experienced walkers and not so experienced, alike.

As soon as I came home all I could do was sing the praises of Exodus. They manage to perfectly blend, organisation and flexibility. I really respect how they practice responsible tourism. I was doing a 3 week tour of Italy and wanted a week's walking tour, but not alone and the Amalfi trip was perfect, allowing me to join the group by land. Also I really loved the fact that the town we stayed in, was that bit outside the tourist hub, meaning we were staying in a real Italian small town and the revenue we generated was pumped back into the town itself.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Seeing the fantastic view of the coastline from the top of the Agerola Plain. Also visiting Pompeii was an amazing and overwhelming trip.
She was very friendly and helpful. It was her first week as group leader of this particular holiday and had only shadowed the previous leader for a week, so her local knowledge was understandably a bit limited. Given time though that will improve.

I think this was graded an A/B (easy/moderate) walking holiday. All of us in the group felt that it was a lot harder than that, as the walks were steep up and down ones, with rocks to scramble over in places, and also lots of small loose pumice stones in some areas where your feet sank ankle deep into it. I would not recommend this holiday to anyone who only wanted gentle walking or who hadn't done a walking holiday before. I would grade this a B/C walk.

Our accommodation was very good, clean and roomy, and with a lovely bathroom. Our only complaint was that as our accommodation was separate from the main hotel, and situated next to a building for staff or local residents' accommodation, it was quite noisy outside until late at night as people were sat outside having their meals and talking. Quite frustrating when you're trying to get to sleep after a long hot day's walking.
Exodus Response
We always take great care to ensure our grading is accurate for each trip and appreciate this is a difficult system to measure for every client. The final day along the 'Walk of the Gods' path is considered by far the highlight of the week with incredible views all the way to Positano, despite the many steps that need to be taken. This famous path is maintained by the local government and not usually covered with loose pumice stones, which may make the walking slightly more challenging.
