Another brilliant Exodus holiday, my 5th in 5 years. The scenery & walks are amazing with breathtaking views at every turn.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

There were many however exploring Pompeii, with a very knowledgeable guide, & then climbing Vesuvious and walking round the crater on my birthday takes some beating!

The walk of the gods was spectacular with breathtaking scenery all the way.

Also, the jet-boat trip to the island of Capri on the free day was pretty special-well worth doing.

We were also invited into the hotel kitchen on two nights during the holiday and given great cooking demonstrations by Giovanni & his fellow chefs-great fun, especially my amateur pizza making attempt!

What did you think of your group leader?

Christine was absolutely brilliant-friendly, sociable, knowledgeable & highly organised.

Her contribution really added to the overall enjoyment of the trip.

She even knew all the best bars to visit after the walks!!

    Thanks Christine.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

As various other travellers have said - be prepared to both climb & descend a lot of steps!

Your legs & joints quickly adapt to this though.

The temperatures in September when we were there were pretty comfortable - mid to high 20's.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

The main advice would be, if you're thinking about this trip then go for it!

I would definitely repeat this holiday some time in the future.

The trip is also excellent value for money.

Finally - special mention to the staff at the hotel who were incedibly welcoming and thanks to the chefs for the great food, especially the alcohol saturated cake presented to me on my birthday!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
There are many inspirational moments - from Herculaneum and Pompeii through to Ravello and Amalfi - the "Walk of the Gods" would be our top choice.
What did you think of your group leader?
Christine was very well organised and looked after us very well. She had a wealth of knowledge and kept the walks at the right pace. Our expecations were well managed in terms of hills and steps! Exodus has very good leaders and guides and Christine was no exception.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Make sure you can cope with 6 - 9 miles walk in the heat (if you go in the summer) - it was over 40C on Vesuvius (even the locals were complaining!) - so we had to take it slowly and drink plenty.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
This is a well structured trip in a lovely part of Italy. You cannot fail to enjoy it, the walks are great, the hotel food is excellent and there is a lot packed into the week - it is very good value.

An excellent holiday with great walking, company, and food. It was our first walking holiday and I would recommend it to anyone.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The views on the walks were spectactular. The food and hospitality of the hotel were great.
What did you think of your group leader?
Christine was excellent! She was good fun and she really knew the walks and the area well.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
I think that this is a great holiday for walkers of all levels. The walks are all interesting and the pace is gentle enough for anyone. The holiday is suitable for all ages and also for both couples and singles. Some of the walks are quite hard on the knees, probably worth bearing in mind if you have problems.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The hotel does not have aircon, which I would imagine is not ideal if you get a very hot week. This trip is spent with English people speaking English all the time and the only chance for you to really integrate yourself with the Italians is on the free day. There are shops in the village where you can buy anything you forget / want to take back with you.

A very well organised trip. Christine, our guide, was extremely knowledgable on the local history and understood the local culture completely. The walks were pitched at just the right level, even with the heat of August!!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The views were fantastic and the food......
What did you think of your group leader?
Christine was brilliant. Totally understanding of the local culture and people. She has immersed herself in this and is able to portray an understanding back to her guests.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
When you read the notes take into account the effects of the heat. We travelled in August and it was hot!!

A new experience for me-my first walking holiday! Very hard on day one but by day six I found myself saying.....I'm really enjoying this! Extremely well organised and fantastically led by Christine Rooney.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Surviving day one! I found it a battle, but the feeling I got from my achievements was very rewarding. The amazing places I saw made it worthwhile and if I didn't make the effort I would never have experienced them - not even through photographs, they really don't compare with reality.
What did you think of your group leader?
OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Her knowledge about the history and culture was second to none - thanks Christine x
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Keep focused-even during the hard times. I counted the number of steps, which gave me something to focus on rather than how difficult it felt. I won't tell you how many steps......I will let you find out yourselves. For those that suffer from travel sickness - I recommend Travella natural tablets - they definitely work on the journey back from Amalfi, which is winding to say the least. Lastly, although its tiring try not to miss any of the walking days especially day 4 - absolutely beautiful ; )
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The hotel staff are very hospitable. We met some lovely people on our trip from as far away as Canada - hopefully we'll keep in touch! Thanks Exodus.

This holiday was fun. The views were magnificent and our group was friendly and sociable, as was our leader.  The hotel was fine.  I think that 'easy to moderate' sums up the level of fitness required very well.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
There were many high points but the views have to count among the most memorable parts of the holiday.
What did you think of your group leader?
Our leader was excellent; both friendly and approachable.  Nothing was too much trouble.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Bear in mind that August on the Amalfi coast is very, very hot and that the walking is therefore quite draining.  You will need lots and lots of water and lots and lots of suncream and a very good hat....
Is there anything else you would like to add?

Ravello, in my opinion, should be included in the itinerary as it's too good to miss.   Everyone I have spoken to rates Herculaneum above Pompeii so I think it would be worth going to the former instead, there isn't time to do it all...

There are lots of 'little extras' so take plenty of money.  The buses in August are packed, which is an understatement, so if you want to arrange private transport into, say, Amalfi, it'll cost you dear.

The whole holiday was an excellent experience. The hotel was fabulous from the friendliness of the staff to the quality the food. The walks were fantastic with stunning scenery and always with the reward of a thirst quenching lemon soda at wonderful family run cafes at the end. The holiday ran so smoothly. this was due mainly because of the professionalism of the leader who had a wealth of local knowledge and great relationships with the owners of the local establishments we visited.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The scenery is stunning. The walk to the summit of Vesuvius makes you appreciate the power of nature. If you get the opportunity to visit Herculaneum, take it. It is much more awe inspiring than Pompeii.

What did you think of your group leader?
    Brilliant
