Frequently Asked Questions
About Your Trip
What are costs like in Corsica?
You should allow about 50 Euros for meals not included. In addition you will need about 5-8 Euros per day for drinks and snacks. A small beer is approx 3 Euro and ice cream 3.50 Euro. About 100 Euros to 150 Euros should be sufficient to cover the above as well as your bar bill at the end of the week, plus souvenirs, optional excursions/entry fees during your free day, depending on what you buy or do.
You will need Euros, and please note there is no ATM in Bocognano although the hotel accepts cards.

What kind of luggage should I take?
There's really no restiction, whatever feels comfortable for you. Whether that's a wheelie case or a rucksack, you won't be carrying it too far so don't worry!

What is the Bocognano hotel like?
Our centre is the family-run 2-star Hotel Beauséjour in the heart of Bocognano. It overlooks the valley of the Gravona River and across to the spectacular granite face of the Monte d’Oro range. The shady grounds give you time and space to relax, and are only a few minutes walk from the small town bakeries, post office, restaurants, bar, general store, tourist office and local train station. Meals are taken in the spacious dining room in authentic 1930’s décor. There is a communal room for general use.

Is it possible to have a day off during the holiday?
Yes, this trip is centre based so if you would prefer to take off any of the days, you're free to do your own thing. Obviously we hope you'll take advantage of all that is on offer, but it's still a holiday, not a forced march!

Do I need to take walking poles?
If you are used to walking with poles then you can take them with you. They are not essential though and the walk is manageable without them. It is personal preference but do remember to pack them as part of your main luggage to be stowed in the hold.

Any local fare I should try in Bocagnano?
You should definitely try the Brocciu cheese, wild boar, cap corse aperitif and some local red wines. You can sample the wine at the local Bar des Amis, a simple local bar in Bocagnano.
