VIA FERRATA IN CORTINA

Tripcode: TEF
High level scrambling and classic Via Ferrata routes based in the beautiful Dolomites
During the First World War, Cortina d'Ampezzo was on the front line of the struggle between Italy and Austria. This historic town is surrounded by some of the Dolomites' most majestic peaks, including Tofana, Cristallo and Sorapiss. We follow classic Via Ferrata routes through tunnels and over high-level bridges in order to discover the extensive fortifications that still exist throughout this area - many of which are being restored as open air museums. After some protected scrambling at the beginning of the week, we move on to the more challenging routes of Punta Anna and Tomassella, where we are rewarded with stunning views of this fascinating limestone range. A warm welcome is always received from our family-run hotel. Cortina retains a cosmopolitan feel after hosting the Winter Olympics in 1956, seen in the celebrations that take place on the beautiful square.
