An amazing trip - outstanding leader, great company and five of the best walks I've done in wonderful mountain countryside.

Excellent location, company and walks.  I liked the feeling that we were discovering the pyrenees for ourselves as we hardly met any other walkers at all.  Merv was a great guide.

Both Merv and Fi worked really hard to make our holiday a great one. Merv is great company on the walks and Fi worked hard to make us nice vegetarian food.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
    Wonderful views in the Pyrenees.
What did you think of your group leader?
Merv knew all of the routes well and was at pains to manage the group properly and ensure that everyone was happy. He has a repertoire of stories that make for entertaining walking! His own enthusiasm for the walks and views was genuine and only enhanced ours, after taking in to consideration that he had been along the routes many times before.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
The Pyrenees in October is quiet but we were lucky to have warm weather most days. Shorts and t-shirts all week.

A beautiful beautiful place, and a great time of year to go (October).  Fantastic food and a trustworthy and entertaining mountain guide.  Will definitely return (as soon as I can!).  Great walking too - quite high but at a fairly leisurely pace so as to be a "relaxing" energetic holiday, if you know what I mean!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Walking into the hills on a free day when the snow had just fallen, no-one around at all and the sun was shining brightly.  Had a quick chat with a red squirrel for a while.  And just missed a deer I think, but even without the wildlife, one of those grounding moments where you feel completely content in your world!
What did you think of your group leader?
Great.  Very knowledgeable and plenty of entertaining stories to keep us entertained around the dinner table too!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't think that October won't be a brilliant time to go - still warm enough for walking, weather great (except for one day) and the Autumn colours of the mountains are well worth seeing.

A great holiday in magnificent autumnal, snow-capped mountain scenery, made all the more enjoyable by a lovely group of fellow walkers.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Flying high in a paraponte over the nearby town of Luchon. I've never done anything like it before.
What did you think of your group leader?

Merv is thoughtful, seamlessly organised, friendly and full of useful information and good yarns. If he sets the standard for your current leaders, you have nothing to worry about from rivals!

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't take too much kit, except the obvious contingencies. It is generally good weather in October, apparently, and we had sunny days throughout ... sun-block temperatures!
Is there anything else you would like to add?

Can't wait to leaf through the brochure for next year I've applied for. When's it out?

The walks varied from enjoyable to challenging. This gave me a good mix ensuring at no point did I get bored. The scenery is fantastic and there is a wide variety. Luchon is a lovely town with plenty to do if you fancy a leisurely day on your day off. The lodge was a great place to stay and the staff really made the holiday, with great food and good company.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Finishing a walk with hideously sun burned legs. I definately wanted to give up a few times but the group I was with kept me smiling and I managed to finish.
What did you think of your group leader?
A really friendly, funny man. He thoroughly kept the group lifted!
