Beautiful location in a very pretty valley, surrounded by alpine forests, flowing river and mountains.  Stunning walks to relax the mind and fuel the body.  Lovely cosy hotel with excellent and varied vegetarian meals and cake!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Seeing the moon and stars through the windows on the first few nights.

Seeing the mist clear as the sun broke through.

Stunning walks through meadows, valleys and along rivers as well as climbing mountains and feeling that the only moment that really mattered was right now and right here and everything else just faded into nothingness.

Seeing people look after the land just as they have done for centuries.

The pretty huts scattered in the mountains.

Turning a corner and seeing magnificient views that give the 'wow' factor.

Being with a group of people that were just fantastic company - on both weeks.

Having an ayurvedic massage and relaxing to beautiful music in the relaxation room.

What did you think of your group leader?

Both Bob and Chris were extremely knowledgable about Austrian culture, flora and fauna.  They were both caring, considerate, efficient and organised and had a great sense of humour.  They worked hard behind the scenes so that we just got to see the smooth running of everything such as transport, meals and timings.  They take responsible tourism seriously whether that is about using local transport, buying local items or picking up rubbish along the trails.  They care about the needs of both us as a group and the local community and find ways of integrating both such as organising concerts and talks by the mountain rescue team.  Sharing the walks each day meant that no-one was competing to be in one group or another.

A great comedy act but also enough experience to make you feel safe and secure.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Think about taking walking poles as the downhills can bea bit scary at times.

Definately take out European health cover before you go.

Consider a waterproof back-pack cover if you have not invested in one as yet.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Consider going for two weeks - it was just as stunning the second week as the weather conditions were different and there was enough choice of walks to not go over the same ground if you did not want to.

    Walks are not overly difficult.

A brilliant experience. I could not fault any aspect of this trip. Everything was as described in the brocure, or better!!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The hotel was charmingly traditional 'Austrian'. The food was really excellent. The buffet breakfast was very good, and plentiful. The 4 course evening meals were of a surprisingly high standard, with a good choice of main course.  The drinks were reasonably priced.

But of course, the main reason for the trip was to experience interesting and challenging treks through beautiful countryside. The 6 treks exceeded my best expectations, and were truly memorable. Each one was physically challenging, but manageable, with time taken out to catch our breath and enjoy the spectacular views in every direction! The WOW factor was very high! The trek, on the last day, to the highest peak that we achieved, was mind-blowing wonderful. The weather was fine and clear, and from the peak, we could see a 360* panoramic view of mountains over many miles. It was FANTASTIC. The The friendly, humorous and efficient leadership of Bob and Chris made every day a pleasure. They clearly love the area, and enjoy sharing their knowledge with the Exodus groups. They were both excellent. The 11 of us, all strangers to each other on Day 1, were soon getting on like old friends. To have a choice of a 'B' or 'C' category trek each day was reassuring. Although I managed the 'C' trek every day, it was good to know that I could have taken it a bit easier on some of the days, had I wanted to.

Every aspect of this trip was EXCELLENT. I would recommend this holiday to any fit person, and also praise the efficiency of Exodus. The company commitment to a 'green' and environmentally responsible approach is also very good.

What did you think of your group leader?
Both Bob & Chris were excellent in every way. Their knowledge of the area, their knowledge of the routes and their guidance of the group over some challenging terrain was efficient at all times. I had total confidence in their expertise. Their friendly, humerous involvement within the group made it easy to get to know everyone.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Walking poles are really essential in this terrain, and good walking boots.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

Just that I had a WONDERFUL, EXCITING, FULFILLING EXPERIENCE......and loved every minute.

An excellent weeks walking with flexibility built in for those who preferred to have the option of easier walks on some days. Both leaders were very knowledgable and were always prepared to answer questions on the history, flora and fauna of the area. Hotel atmosphere and food were excellent catering very well for vegetarians as well as meat eaters

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The walk past Maria am See and up to Italian border at the Portjoch, the views from there are superb.

The walk to the Tribulaunhaus and crossing the screes beyond amongst spectacular mountain scenary.

What did you think of your group leader?

Both leaders were excellent being easy to talk to and very knowlegable. They worked hard to ensure all members of the group were catered for, including those who wanted to do things on their own sometimes.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
    Go and enjoy it!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The holiday was enhanced significantly because all members of the group were easy to get along with and determined to enjoy themselves.

This was a well organised trip to a really beautiful area of Europe. Activities, accommodation and food were all excellent.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The final walk of the trip was an ascent of the Peilspitze, a high peak with quite an exposed summit and spectacular views all round. Although exposed, the summit was not dangerous but had an exceptional location in terms of mountain grandeur.

The walk over the Portjoch into Italy (the Sud Tirol) was memorable as we sat having our lunch high over the Brenner Pass.

What did you think of your group leader?
The two group leaders, Chris and Bob, were both top class. Their experience, sense of humour and sensitivity to individual's needs made the trip really special. Everything was clearly explained and two grades of walk were offered every day, B and C level. The two groups usually started out out together and changing groups was often possible during the day. This removed the problem of anyone feeling they were holding others back.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

The group met up in Munich. I arranged my own flight and needed to know that Munich airport has two terminals. I found this out myself and had to change terminals to meet up with the group.

Take a day off to visit Innsbruck. It's a beautiful and historic town with a spectacular backdrop of mountains.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
A great trip. Go for it!

A week of pure unadulterated escapism for body and soul. For me it was a holiday of firsts, my first Exodus holiday, first holiday travelling alone and first trekking holiday. I knew it would be good after reading literally all of the reviews; however the reality surpassed my high expectations.  The other guests were brilliant and I now have many knew wonderful friends. Bob and Chris, our team leaders were exceptional, the hotel staff were very friendly, the scenery was stunning and magical and the tea and cake which greeted us after each and every walk without exception was to die for...... well at least to walk for 6 hours for.... . I am really looking forward to planning my next trip, although armed with so many ideas from fellow holiday makers I can’t decide which one to choose!!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
I thoroughly enjoyed each walk, all of which were very different. Although the walk on the last day stood out for me, the weather was perfect, the views crystal clear and the trek culminated in fabulous 360 degree views for miles around, putting so many things into perspective. Coming back to Trins after each walk was also very memorable, such a quaint, picturesque village.  My many photo shoots with the striking Swiss Brown cows will also stay with me not least because a blown up picture is framed and hanging in my kitchen to greet me every morning.
What did you think of your group leader?
Bob and Chris were excellent group leaders, everything you would expect and more.  They were friendly, very helpful, and had so much local knowledge including the geography, geology and history. They planned the holiday and walks perfectly, taking care of everything so all that was left to do was to make sure you were ready for breakfast, for the walk and then in time for drinks before dinner - perfectly stress free!  Furthermore their passion for the environment and support for the local community was very motivating.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Walking poles can be very helpful especially for downhill. Don’t expect to lose any weight even after hours of walking, the food is exceptional and there is a lot of it so breaking even is as much as you can hope for. Oh, and remember the sun screen.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Don't hesitate, just book it, you will not be disappointed!

The trip had good walks which involved walking on good paths to just over 2,000 metres and included ridge walks and walks of historic interest.  The hotel was of an excellent standard and the twp guides both helpful and knowledgeable.

What did you think of your group leader?
The group leader was very good.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
There are two terminals at Munich and multiple arrival points and you should be aware of this at the time of arrival if travelling on a different flight to that of the main group.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

A good walking holiday without the hardship of camping and cold showers.

This was a really pleasant, relaxing holiday - lovely area, lovely hotel, lovely food, lovely people. I had not done a centre-based Exodus for many years, preferring hut to hut, village to village, trekking. So, when circumstances 'forced' me to take this holiday rather than something a little more 'basic', I was a little apprehensive how I would cope with the 'luxury' of hotel accommodation. I soon accustomed myself to 'slumming it in comfort'. I enjoyed it!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Being in the Alps, being up in mountains in general, is always inspirational. Strenuous climbing, getting above the tree-line into rocky landscapes, onto narrow ridges, reaching cols/summits with stunning new vistas - together they make for a great holiday. On the Trins holiday we got some of these.
What did you think of your group leader?
An amusing 'double act'. Well informed about all things 'Trinsian' and Tyrolean. They were both well organised, and very good at looking after their flock. Their evening briefings were very precise, if not concise. As well as the day walks they had also planned two very entertaining, and very different, evening events - a visit to hear a concert by the village wind band (very high standard of performance here, some virtuosic solo playing) and a talk by two young members of the local mountain rescue team (they had a presentation showing the surrounding mountains in the different seasons, and they showed us all the equipment they take up into the mountains when they are called out - excellent).
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Go and enjoy yourselves, but don't expect particularly strenuous walking.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I enjoyed the holiday, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, enjoyed the hotel and its facilities and food.

I was disappointed by the walks. The trip is billed as B/C grades - with both B and C walks offered on all of the six days. All my previous Exodus walking/trekking trips have been C grade. In my opinion, none of the walks on this Trins holiday were C grade walks. Yes, maybe the walks did meet the various grading criteria for Cs but my experience was that they didn't feel like C walks - I didn't return to the hotel each evening feeling as though I'd had a good, strenuous day out.
