Trek through wildflower meadows and Buddhist villages of the Indian Himalaya

This exceptional trek takes us to the Miyar Valley, tucked away in a little-known corner of the Lahoul-Spiti Region of the Indian Himalaya. From Manali we cross the Rothang Pass and visit the ancient gompas at Keylong before starting our exploration of the Miyar River Valley. We follow the river from its confluence to its glacial source below the 6000m peaks of the Zanskar Mountains. We trek through Buddhist villages, fields and meadows to high altitude pastures, home to the Gaddi shepherds and the elusive Himalayan Blue Poppy. With little outside influence, the area is still remarkably traditional and the diversity of habitat is outstanding. A relaxed trek offering a different Himalayan experience.
