Essential Information
Trip Profile
13 days point-to-point walking with full porterage. Altitude maximum 2560m, average 1000m.
Accommodation
11 nights semi-participatory camping, 3 nights 3-star hotels in en suite rooms.
Camping on this trip is always in wild camps, as official campsites simply do not exist in the areas we visit. Wild camping means there is no ablutions or toilet block; however, there is sometimes the possibility to find a private spot at a nearby river for a quick wash. Ground conditions and space permitting, a basic toilet tent is erected at each camp. All camp chores are done for you from erecting and dismantling your tent to all the cooking and washing up. A table and chairs are also provided for meal times.
All the hotels we use are of a similar standard, clean and functional although the rooms and facilities may be basic and limited and the breakfasts simple. Our hotel in Marrakech has a swimming pool.
Food
All breakfasts, 12 lunches and 11 dinners included.
Reality Check
Point-to-point walking and camping are the best options to help us cover more remote regions of southern Morocco.
Please note all nights camping are in wild camps as no official campsites exist in the areas we visit. On the treks in the Sahro we use mules to carry personal gear so only a light daypack is required, occasionally with a share of the picnic lunch.
In the Sahara, we are supported by the 'ships of the desert' who accompany us on our trek and carry all our personal gear. We will be trekking through very remote areas and therefore recommend taking purification tablets with you. There are some days where water can be bought yet not regularly enough.
There are no free days during this trek as there is so much ground to cover over two weeks, however there are many days when we arrive back in camp in the early afternoon so there is always time to relax and enjoy the incredible scenery.
To be able to reach these remote and wonderful areas, please note there are some long driving days (maximum 8 hours on the last day returning from the desert).
Altitude maximum 2560m, average 1300m (in the mountains). Low altitude throughout camel trek.
Normal group size and age
Normally 7 to 16, plus leader and appropriate local staff. Minimum age 16.

The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
No experience is necessary; those who take weekend hill walks in areas like the Peak District or Cotswold’s at home should manage a B-grade trek; good health and reasonable fitness are important. These Moderately graded departures are either fairly easy medium-duration walks or harder, shorter walks.
Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.
Wilderness: Visit the deserts, jungles, plateaux, tundra and mountains of all seven continents, including Antarctica.
Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
