MT. TOUBKAL CLIMB
8 days from GBP679 to GBP709 including flights
Tripcode: TMM
A satisfying one-week trek to climb Mt Toubkal, North Africa's highest mountain
Mt Toubkal, known locally as Jebel Toubkal, stands 4167m above sea level and commands superb views of the High Atlas Mountains. Our trek to the summit starts in the small village of Oukaimeden, passing through impressive landscapes on well-defined paths, and is, surprisingly, not too strenuous. As we climb higher the paths do become steep and rugged in places, but the gain in altitude awards a dramatic view; to Marrakech, the Anti-Atlas mountains and row after row of sharp granite peaks. Throughout this energetic and rewarding trek our route passes through remote villages offering an insight to the life of the Berbers. We end the week with some free time in the colourful Imperial City of Marrakech.
