Explore Marrakech and the Atlas mountains with easy day walks from a quiet gite

Hidden deep in the High Atlas mountains are the crumbling remains of the great fortress-palace of Telouet: it is hard to imagine a more romantic spot in Morocco. Nearby, in a remote and picturesque valley, is the village of Tijhza. Here is our base for the week, a simple but pleasant gite. We leave from here on our optional daywalks; the walking is relaxed allowing us to enjoy the Atlas scenery and appreciate the traditional Berber life. There's also time in Marrakech, to explore the busy souks or relax in the tranquil Jardin Marjorelle, the perfect finale to our North African experience.

Responsible Travel

Exodus has been working with the people of Tijzha valley for many years on various projects to improve the lives of this remote community. Every week there is the opportunity to visit the school, situated walking distance from the gite, where school facilities have vastly improved and work has already started on a new medical facility for the village.

After our successful Volunteer trip in 2007, many clients are returning to Tijhza to continue helping the villagers complete their medical facility and the house for a resident doctor. Spaces are limited so please contact us soon to guarantee your place.

Itinerary

Day 1	Fly to Marrakech.
Day 2	Explore Marrakech.
Day 3	Drive to Tijhza and explore.
Day 4 - 6	Varied daywalks through the mountains. These can be altered to suit the weather and the group's wishes.
Day 7	Walk to Animiter; drive Marrakech.
Day 8	Fly to London.
