Reality Check
This trip is graded as Moderate. For moderately graded trips you will need to be in good health and reasonably fit. It is recommended that you should be taking regular exercise prior to departure. You will also visit remote areas with basic facilities so please take this in to consideration in assessing whether this trip is right for you.
We aim to keep to areas of harder sand throughout, making walking easier, although this may change due to the prevailing weather conditions blowing sand over our route. Throughout there are no footpaths and we rely on the expertise of our guide and camel drivers to guide us through this barren landscape. During the 6 days trekking we will cover approximately 100km, walking for an average of 4-6 hours per day. You should be able to walk at 2.5-3 miles per hour pace.
Group size and age
Min. 4, max. 16, plus leader and appropriate local staff. Minimum age 16.

The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
For those people not travelling with family or friends. Exodus group adventure holidays are the perfect option. Solo (single/independent) travel in encouraged and very much a feature of our group holidays, with around half our clients joining the trip by themselves.
No experience is necessary; those who take weekend hill walks in areas like the Peak District or Cotswold’s at home should manage a B-grade trek; good health and reasonable fitness are important. These Moderately graded departures are either fairly easy medium-duration walks or harder, shorter walks.
Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.
Special Interest: For those who have a passion for archaeology, food, flowers, languages or yoga. Solar eclipse departures and specialist conservation holidays are also included.
