Reality Check
This is a grade C trek with 17 days point-to-point walking.
The altitude maximum is 5416m with an average of 2800m. You should be confident with your fitness and be willing to put in some preparation work. Walking Conditions The Annapurna Circuit trek involves walking under quite a variety of conditions, but almost entirely on well-established trails. Except for the crossing of the Thorong La the walking is at intermediate altitude, but it is likely to be below freezing on several nights, and during the crossing of the Thorong La it will be well below and you must be prepared for very cold weather that day. Some snow or ice may be encountered on the pass.
Group size and age
Min. 6, max. 16, plus leader and appropriate local staff. Minimum age 18.
Responsible Travel
Annapurna Tree Nursery: This is a very small scale resource replacement project in the village of Braga, high in the Annapurna region and which we visit on the Annapurna Circuit trek. Karma, a local man has given us one of his fields and has made a small tree nursery. Karma and his wife collect seeds every year and plant out the saplings. At this altitude (3,500m.) the climate is very harsh - in winter the ground freezes and there is snow. The rate of growth of trees at this altitude is very slow. However we are managing to keep over 200 saplings alive and growing each year. In 2009 we are hoping to open another small nursery in Gyaru village, which is also on the Annapurna Circuit trail

The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
Fitness is important and you may have to improve yours before departure. Most treks at this grade compare to extended walking in mountainous terrain such as the Lakes of Snowdonia, but usually at significantly higher altitudes; climate and remoteness can also play a part. Previous trekking experience is desirable, but not vital if you are confident of your physical condition.
Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.
