- What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The views from Poon Hill at sunrise, well worth the effort of the climb in the dark before breakfast!
Views in the sanctuary, especially having read the Chris Bonnington account of the assault of the south face of Annapurna I, awe inspiring.
- What did you think of your group leader?
He worked hard to ensure our trip was not affected by the strike in the country without worrying us (chatting with people using other tour operators they did not always have such a great experience).
He was very keen to show us the Nepalese way of life, arranging side trips not on the itinery.
The Christmas decorations and tree (made from ferns) made the day that more special.
- Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
There are some steep up and downs, a lot of it on steps, so try to find a tower block to train in.
Spare camera batteries, recharging facilities are very limited and the cold does drain them, would be a shame to miss out on capturing those memories.
Washing facilities are a bit limited in the tea houses so a supply of wet wipes help keep you fresh.
The trails were fairly quiet at this time of year, I could imagine it might be different in the main trekking seasons.
