Great experience and adventure in the shadows of the most amazing mountains in the world!!! Plenty of time to acclimatise and socialise with your group, excellent leaders and guides, challenging but not excessive walking and an experience of a lifetime. Exodus made everything easy and the expertise and support shown by all staff on the trek made it everything I hoped it would be.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Meeting people from all walks of life of different strengths and abilities was inspiring and encouraging to see. The climb up Kala Pattar early morning to see the sunrise was hard work, especially knowing you're doing an additional 3hrs to an already long days walking, but the views are breathtaking and worth every step.

What did you think of your group leader?

Dawa was unbelieveably brilliant!! Every step of the way there was support to hand and the neverending knowledge of the area and landscape to answer all questions. Even the daft ones! Not forgetting the guides and yak drivers who were fantastic throughout the trip. Even to the point of voluntarily trekking back to a lodge to retrieve my phone - thanks a million Pemba!!

Top class people for a top class trip. The knowledge, support and friendship made it what it was. A million thanks to you all.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

    Hmmmm, advice???

If you've ever seen the highest mountain in the world on TV, it just doesn't do it justice. The vastness of the Himalayas and the ever extending peaks are amazing and unbelievably beautiful. Its back to the Lake District now but I am still in awe of this incredible landscape and the welcoming people who surround it. Exodus bring everthing to you, make it a hassle free and awesome experience that will stay with me forever.

Reasonable fitness will get you all the places you want to go and a little more aswell, so my advice would be to book it and enjoy the most amazing place on your own two feet. Have fun!!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

What an excellent place to visit - and an eyeopener. Lukla is the tranqil place where your trek begins and what a place. Against all promises, visit the Irish bar on your return - its a night not to be missed, even if its just for the free popcorn, which after noodles, rice and omelettes, was like a triple chocolate gauteaux not to shared!!

     Thanks Exodus for everything!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Everest base camp was inspiring but for me reaching the summit of Kala Pattar was the biggest achevement.
What did you think of your group leader?
Pasang Bomjam our group leader was very informative about everything in the mountains and made a point of going out of his way to make the trip as enjoyable as possible.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Good well worn in boots and experiene  is a must. A couple of our party underestimated how tough this trek would be and suffered a bit because of it. Everyone made it to base camp thanks to the great team behind us but not everyone made the last summit.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

    Book now and enjoy.

Stock up well with chocolate and coke/fanta ect in Namche Bazaar as it is EXPENCIVE in the mountains. Can of diet coke £3 chocolate bars £2.

Take baby wipes with you as you will need them and a shower will cost up to £4 per person.

Be respectful to the locals as they are amazing people. What ever rubish you make try and carry it out with you as it is becoming a problem.Dont be afraid to tell the korean tourists not to drop litter as they are buggers for it.

I hope your trip is as amazing as mine was.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Without even trying the leader Gum K.C. and his team of guides Kaji Sherpa, Camie Sherpa and yak man Thukten Sherpa inspired us from start to finish, totally professional in every way, Thukten has summited Everest 8 times and Kaji has just completed the Nepal Mountain bike champs (Yak Attack) finishing 2nd just a week after finishing with our trek, and now is preparing to summit Everest in may for the 4th time. These guys ran about after our every whim for 19 days always with a genuine smile, with one aim, to get us to EBC/Kalar P.

How could we let them down ??

What did you think of your group leader?
Gum was totally professional at all times, wicked sense of humour, but not very good at cards !!!!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

If departing in winter You will need a good quality sl bag Rab 900 at least, if you dont own then rent, we did for £50 (trek hire) worth every penny. Didnt use hired down jackets much and are bulky a decent gortex was ok.During the trek we spent £900 between us. Packets of loo paper ( rolls can get wet and dont fit in pockets ) average 2 pckts per day ! During our trek, it was 7 - 25 feb it was very quiet the whole time, the lodges were quiet and the trail and not very dusty, day time walking was plesent, night time was freezing -20 ish, given the choice of busier, dustier, but warmer, we would choose the cold and quieter every time ?

A fantastic trip - not only in that the scenery was breathtaking, the scale of the mountains nothing like I've ever experienced and the feeling of reaching that peak (even if it was dwarfed by much bigger ones!), but also the camaraderie of the group, the shared memories, excellent tour leader and guides.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Really feeling the meeting of two valleys after climbing a small peak at Tengboche - the map had come alive! Doing Kala Pattar in the morning was also really just magical.
What did you think of your group leader?
Both our group leader, and the guides were knowledgeable, incredibly friendly and very funny and really part of what made the trip special.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't be put off by the length of the trek. It's all done at a really great pace, and as long as your fitness is good, you'll find it enjoyable.

It's an adventure rather than a 'holiday'.  If you can handle a bit of cold, a lot of walking and the absence of home comforts then go for it.  It's a once in a life-time chance to see amazing views, walk with like-minded people and just enjoy being there.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The goal was to reach Everest Base Camp.  To achieve that was fantastic.  As an asthmatic I was worried about how the altitiude would affect me, but I coped well and was elated to get to 5,400m.

What did you think of your group leader?
Passang, the main group leader and his assistant guides, Nema and Mimba were great.  Passang was considerate, conscientious and inspired confidence.  He gave clear instructions on timings and what to expect.  You always felt looked after and safe and best of all they made it enjoyable, they became temporary friends for the trip rather than 'Exodus guides'.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Be prepared for basic accommodation.  Remember your hand-gel / toilet roll / cereal bars and you'll be fine.  You need good gloves as early starts mean cold mornings before the sun comes up.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
If you're thinking of doing it, then just book.  You don't need to be able to run a marathon or be ultra fit to go on this trip -  you just need to be capable of walking up some hills (you can rest when you want and it's not a competition to get there first).
