This was my first trip with exodus, certainly wont be my last. it was an experience i,ll never forget (along with the rest of the group).Every day we encounted new views that took your breath away. But it was the warmth of the sherpa people that made our journey.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Far to many...Our oldest member of the team ,Nick 70. A wonderful lady who had problems from the start (due to an injury from years ago ) she still made it to Ama Dablam base camp. She became my inspirational hero. The first views of Everest.. Getting to Ama Dablam base camp and watching climbers heading for the summit..The bridges..Finally reaching namche bazar.. Watching open mouthed as sherpas stroll past us carrying ridiculously heavy loads on there backs. The hospital at Khum Jung..The view of the milky way at night.. Sunset on Ama Dablam..Sunrise in Lukla. The flight to and from Lukla. The morning tea.. The evening meals.. Tibetan bread..The madness that is Kathmandu...The tranquility of The garden of dreams. As ive said there,s far to many moments to pick out just one.
What did you think of your group leader?
This is easy.. Ajay tamang, was without doubt the reason we all had such a good time. I never saw this man without the biggest smile on his face. He was informative on the range of mountains as we walked the path, telling us there names and height. when one of the group was having a slow day ,he walked with them carrying there backpack as well as his own. We were made to feel part of a team with the guides from day one. I have nothing but praise for him and the guides. A real credit to the company.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Buy a tubular neckwarmer. The trail is very dusty, and although you cant see it,  you certainly feel it at the back of your throat. Most of the sherpas wear them. Drink loads of water, I was having between 3 and ltrs a day.No beer on the way up. The walk is at an easy pace.As ajay says "slowly slowly, up up " of course you then find your going down again. The food is brilliant . you must try momos. along with dhal bat. There is of course the pizza chips & egg menu. Everst Beer at namche bazar on the way back down. we all went to a bar only to have Led Zep played at full volume.(one of the more sureal moments)Find the Garden of dreams in Kathmandu (Its quite easy) I spent an afternoon there just chillin out after spending the morning at Durba Sqare. "Kilroys" the best restaurant in the thamel. Mandala street, best coffee and huge doughnut all for 90 rp. about 75p.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
If your still reading this then your already thinking about going. DO IT...BOOK IT NOW... I was a solo traveler who also happens to be clinically deaf. I had the BEST time of my life. all the group was supportive of each other. The Everst trail is stunning. The people are wonderfull. The staff are amazing. Our oldest member in the group was 70 , I only hope i will be able to trek when im that age.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The awe inspiring Himalaya. The Sherpa people's way of life. Not seeing any cars for 8 days, bliss. Our oldest group member Les Weis, hope i'm still trekking at 80.
What did you think of your group leader?
Prasant was brilliant. He took care of us like we were his children. He always made sure we were all ok, from organising our meal orders to strapping up a group members twisted ankle. We returned to our lodge after our end of trek night out at the Irish bar in Lukla, to find Prasant pacing the hall ways worrying that everone would not get in on time before the doors were locked, bless him. His knowledge of the area is very good. On our last night in Khatmandu at the Rum Doodle he had everyone dancing. Prasant and his team were a joy to be with.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Pack for all kinds of weather you never know what it will do. It was a lot warmer at the beginning of October than we expected.

Take ear plugs, the walls in the lodges are very thin.

For those of you who pick up a cold, tissues and strepsils are sold in all the little shops on trek.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Don't worry if your veggie, there's plenty of choice on the menus. I had something different most nights.

The western loo is becoming more easy to find, we had one in every lodge we stayed in.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Seeing Everest for the 1st time at Tengboche after a 2 hour uphill trek.  Reaching Ama Dablam base camp & being the only group there. Arriving back to Lukla on the completion of the trek & having a few Everest beer in 'The Irish Pub'.  Watching the sunset over AmaDablam, Nuptse Lhotse and Everest.  Seeing the young monks in Tengboche playing soccer and card games (gambling).  Doing a headstand at 4600m with Everest above my left foot.
What did you think of your group leader?
Pasang was a fantastic leader.  If I were to go trekking in this region again I would ensure that I chose one that was led by him.  Soukman and Sham (our guides) were excellent , spoke english really well and even understood our strong irish accents.  Pasang et al were aware of any issues we were facing before we were aware of them - such was their sensitive approach.  They are so friendly and we had a great laugh with them - though Im a bit lost at not having anyone bringing me morning tea now.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

    - keep to a vegetarian menu (though there is little choice) and that saves on tummy bugs

    - card games were great entertainment for the evenings

    - try Everest beer

    - be happy that Exodus have strong animals to transport kitbags as opposed to people (which other companies use)

    - Rum Doodle restaurant in Kathmandu is overrated

Is there anything else you would like to add?
The group that I went with ranged in age but we all got on really well - which was helped by our guides.  Im now frightened to not walk clockwise around boulders and I have more awareness of crows.  I will always appreciate the western loo.  Showers sometimes come in buckets.  Tibeten bread is class.

A fantastic trip with spectacular scenery and breathtaking views of some of the worlds highest mountains.  Do it, you won't regret it.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The first view of Everest was jaw dropping...an experience never to be forgotten.

Short but stunning flight to and from Lukla.

The vibrancy, colour, noise and chaos of Kathmandu.

    The amazing scenery.

What did you think of your group leader?
This is where praise is easy....Keshar, our leader was brilliant, he was knowledgable, friendly, polite and very supportive.  The guides, Sukman and Uber were also a class act...these guys could'nt do enough for us and even brought us "wakey wakey" tea every morning.  Ten out of ten...all top men!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Don't worry about the food as there are some excellent restaurants in Kathmandu serving a variety of dishes.  On the trail meals are based on potatoes, eggs and rice.

Take suncream, the sun was stronger than I'd imagined.

Take plenty of energy bars although mars, snickers and bounty bars are available on the trail.

Make sure you visit the Rum Doodle restaurant with it's famous signatures on the wall.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

This was my first trek and first holiday with Exodus and ranks as one of my most memorable experiences.   The trip was well organised and we were given sound advice by our leader throughout, and although I had altitude sickness I was ably supported by our 3 guides and the rest of the group to such a degree that I would gladly do it all again.

An experience of a lifetime: fantastic scenery; rewarding trekking; snowball fights; mint tea and above all, caring and responsible guides who kept us safe and informed.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Reaching Ama Dablam Base Camp was a real achievement for all of us. We were determined to do it but the positive support and experience of the guides was crucial in giving us that extra boost.

And drinking hot chocolate at the Everest View hotel with an amazing Himalayan backdrop was great.

On our last day in Kathmandu, we went to Bodnath (Buddhist stupa) and had lunch on one of the roof terrace cafes inside. It was lovely soaking up the atmosphere, listening to the music, people-watching and reminiscing.

What did you think of your group leader?
He often said that his 'mission' was to get us there and back safely which he took very seriously. Playing the roles of doctor, tour guide and walk leader, his energy and postive warmth were invaluable. When the trekking was hard, he stayed at the back walking with and encouraging anyone struggling.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Showers can be very difficult to come by, or cold so baby wipes or soap will help. It's also hard to wash clothes and they are unlikely to dry anyway.

Bring chocolate bars! We were eating up to four a day and they are expensive. Sweets are a good idea too.

The sun was much stronger then I'd imagined in the spring. Do bring sun lotion and good aftersun.

Before you come, practise walking up steep hills for short bursts and on uneven, rocky ground as this will help.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Don't worry about being veggie - it's all potatoes and eggs!

Amazing views of Everest and other 8000 peaks, from Tawoche Hill @ 5000m.  Temples in Kathmandu, was an  eye opening experience

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The whole trek was amazing, we had clear days with views of Everest on 4 different days, although this trek was at altitude the pace ensured that we acclimitised and reached our 5000m goal.  Sitting at 5000m watching the clouds roll in and enjoying the views of Everest.
What did you think of your group leader?
Excellent, Chandra was very knowledgeable & helpful.  He smiled throughout the whole trips.  His team supporting him on the trip were also very good.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Become a veggie on the trek, we did and no-one in our group got stomach bugs.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
We did 2007 itinerary with the Chitwan extension.  The highlight of the trip was the 5000m climb, I think this should be added back into the trip and the trip grading amended accordingly.  Replacing with the Chitwan is not a fair swap, although we enjoyed the Chitwan we enjoyed the trek more.

We have been to Annapurna  area before so we know we love Nepal. This area was in the Everest region so I expected it to be different. The people are inspiring and are kind and giving.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

I was worried about the small plane into Lukla, but it was good, apart from the 3hr delay due to bad weather. The walking seemed easy, lots of toilet stops, and lots of food and drinks.

I was amazed that we could buy water in plastic bottles so I didn't use my iodine tabs. This was not alllowed in  the Annapurna region.

However I didn't realise that the altitude kicked in several days later and I had quite bad nausea and vomiting on the third day. Other members of the group were far worse. I think the trip appears to be easy but nothing is easy when you are ill.

I would suggest discussing with your Dr or travel specialist the correct use of Diamox before the trip as we thought the info on the trip was sparse and confusing.

What did you think of your group leader?
    Inspiring.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Its cold, very cold at night. Expect not to wash much.  I did have two great showers in 2 weeks.

I went through lots of loo roll, but you can buy it anywhere.

Research altitude symptoms,  I had a very heavy clotted nose bleed the one night.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
The place is inspirational and the people are a dream.
