LAKE TITICACA & THE INCA TRAIL
16 days at GBP2,613 including flights
Tripcode: TPB
Classic Andean trek combining some of the world's most breathtaking mountain scenery with fine archaeological sites
The high altiplano, which runs through the south of Peru and into Bolivia, is a landscape of harsh, dramatic beauty and was the heartland of the Inca civilisation. Though there are cities, roads and a railway, everyday life on the altiplano still goes on much as it has done for hundreds of years. We visit La Paz, the highest capital in the world and the nearby glaciated Cordillera Real, before travelling via azure Lake Titicaca to Cuzco, first the Incas' 'Navel of the Universe' and later the colonial capital of the Spanish Conquistadores. From here we explore the beautiful Sacred Valley and walk the Inca Trail to the lost city of Machu Picchu.
The Moonstone Trek is now available as a higher, more isolated route on this trip. Click here for more information.
