A stunning, remote high altitude trek across newly opened passes

With several 6000m peaks, the Cordillera Vilcanota is one of Peru's most spectacular mountain ranges. Rarely visited, yet within striking distance of Cuzco, it is home to Nevado Ausangate (6372m), a sacred mountain which towers high and proud above ice-capped peaks, tumbling glaciers and turquoise lakes.
Our high and remote route takes us through the range, crossing several high passes, venturing deep into the mountain valleys, soaking in hot springs and walking past isolated farming communities.
The mountain views which accompany us along the way are incredible, and we add a special mountaineering element to the trip with an ascent of the 5500m Campa Peak, which offers a sensational panorama of some of the highest summits in the range.
On selected departures we join thousands of pilgrims high in the mountains as we attend Qoyllur Rit'i, a traditional religious festival famous for its colourful dancers and musicians.
