Kamchatka Wilderness Trek

Some of the trails are quite well defined but many are basic, but this “off-the-beaten-path” element is very much part of the attraction. Be prepared to hop over fallen trees and branches, clamber up and down mossy and rocky banks and for wet conditions underfoot at times.At times the paths will be even less well defined, maybe even nonexistent, and you walk through scrub, bushes, bog and tall grasses.
Please note that bears are dangerous animals and it may be necessary to walk close together at times for safety. The guide will instruct the group on this, as well as on safety procedures when walking in active
volcanic areas. When climbing the volcanoes you will walk on volcanic ash and sometimes sharp, recently formed lava.

All nationalities require a passport and a visa for Russia. We must obtain an official invitation for this visa that must be valid for Kamchatka. The visa invitation will be obtained by Exodus and issued to clients to use alongside their visa application. Visas can be applied for directly with the embassy or via a visa agency company. It is your responsibility to arrange a visa prior to travel, but we will provide you with more information after booking to help and advise with this. The cost of the visa is currently £70.

We advise taking your money in US$, as Sterling can be difficult to change in country and US$ are widely accepted alongside Roubles. As all meals are included and much of this trip is camping, your main additional expenses will be beverages at the start and end of the trip (beer and soft-drinks are around US$2 each) and any tipping that you feel is required.
