Reality Check
9 days trekking and camping in the dramatic and wild Ala Dag Mountains, plus daywalks through spectacular scenery of Cappadocia; all vehicle or mule supported.
Altitude maximum 3723m, average 2250m. Grade B/C.
The walking in Ala Dag is graded C as it's quite strenuous, with some steep ascents and descents. There is also quite a lot of scree in some places where some scrambling may be required.
On the June departures there may well be snow so you will need to be prepared for this.
The daywalks in Cappadocia are much more moderate and are the equivalent of a B grade.
The trip is a good mix of trekking and cultural exploration, and the camping is fully supported. The camp sites are in spectacular and remote locations and as a result the facilities are basic.
All the camps have showers and toilets although hot water may be limited or unavailable.
Normal group size and age
Normally 7 to 16, plus leader and local staff. Minimum age 16.
