Trek the unique and fairytale landscape of Cappadocia

Turkey has long been underrated as a trekking destination, but with the fairytale rock formations of Cappadocia to enchant its visitors it should not be overlooked. The unique landscape was formed by the eruptions of three volcanoes; Mount Erciyes, Mount Hasan and Mount Melendiz.
The chimney formations that resulted from these eruptions were used to hide the first churches of Cappadocia, giving this trip a fascinating cultural and historical dimension to complement the spectacular walks.
During this trip we will explore the underground city of Kaymakli, which is an amazingly sophisticated area of living spaces, stables and communal kitchens designed to allow communities to survive for long periods of time without the need to surface. The fairytale chimneys offer one of the most distinctive landscapes in the world.
The great walking, friendly people, history and staggering scenery of this region will ensure this trip lives long in the memory.

What makes this trip responsible?
Walking is a fantastic way of experiencing an area while minimising your impact on the environment, our small group numbers also assist in limiting our negative impact on the area. Our local operator takes an active role in responsible tourism and twice a year they organise a group of volunteers to collect rubbish from the mountains. They also support a local school in Demirkazik village where they have donated computers, painted the building and planted cherry trees.
