Reality Check

This trip includes a combination of daywalks and point to point trekking, with light backpacking through moderate terrain.

On days when we change accommodation, bags will be transported by bus to our destination so there is no need to carry everything with us. While the grading of this trip is categorised as 'Moderate' and no experience is necessary, some sections of the walk can be more challenging. Therefore, it is important that you are in good health and reasonable fitness is required.

We will usually walk between 5-6 hours a day, with one longer day (see itinerary). Trails can be rough and stony underfoot and if the conditions are wet it can make the walking more challenging. Daywalks include steady ascents and descents, and there are some steeper sections particularly around the Slovakian boarder.

Picnic lunches will be taken on the way and we will stop en route to visit the many cultural attractions of the area.

The average altitude is 750m, maximum 1182m. At this height it is unlikely you would be affected by Acute Mountain Sickness.

Normal group size and age

Normally 6 to 16 plus leader. Minimum age 16.

Adult Group Holidays The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together. All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please see our Solo Departures page.

Moderate No experience is necessary; those who take weekend hill walks in areas like the Peak District or Cotswold’s at home should manage a B-grade trek; good health and reasonable fitness are important. These Moderately graded departures are either fairly easy medium-duration walks or harder, shorter walks.

Walking & Trekking Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.

Culture Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
