Frequently Asked Questions
About Your Trip
Is it possible to have a day off during the holiday?
Yes, this trip is centre based so if you would prefer to take off any of the days, you're free to do your own thing. Obviously we hope you'll take advantage of all that is on offer, but it's still a holiday, not a forced march!

What is the weather like in Slovenia?
Slovenia has a mixed alpine climate with summer temperatures in the range of 18 to 25°C. In the mountains cool mornings are normally followed by warm pleasant days, with temperatures in the Alps being ideal for walking. During summer months afternoon showers of rain cool down the humidity, giving way to clear skies and pleasant temperatures.

What kind of luggage should I take?
There's really no restiction, whatever feels comfortable for you. Whether that's a wheelie case or a rucksack, you won't be carrying it too far so don't worry!

No, if you hold an EU passport, you do not need any visa to travel. If you hold a non EU passport, please check with your nearest embassy.

What are costs and money like in Slovenia?
Slovenia has the Euro and is pretty reasonable, especially compared to some close neighbours! You should allow about 10EUR per lunch and 20EUR per 3 course dinner. It's about 2EUR for a coffee, 4EUR for a beer and 2EUR euro for a glass of wine.
Atms are available all around the country, but it's advisable to maybe just take some Euro cash and use this.

Can I book my own flights to Ljubljana?
Yes, it's not a problem to book flights yourself to Slovenia, as there are a few low cost carriers who fly the route. However, as you transfer out of town to a different part of the country, please get in touch with Exodus first so we can best advise on where and how to meet the group. The start point is possible to get to by public transport or by taxi, so just let us know if you need some advise about this!

Do I need to take walking poles?
If you are used to walking with poles then you can take them with you. They are not essential though and the walk is manageable without them. It is personal preference but do remember to pack them as part of your main luggage to be stowed in the hold.

Sterling cash is best, and just change it locally when you arrive. You can arrange some local currency in advance but there is really no need and no advantage in doing so. ATMs are widely available as well, in case you need to top up towards the end of the trip!
