PYRENEES FRONTIER TREKS & PICO ANETO
8 days at GBP999 including flights
Tripcode: TWC
A tough trek along sections of the classic Pyrenees High Route, including an ascent of Pico Aneto, the highest in the whole range
The Pyrenees provide some of the finest and wildest scenery in Europe, this week of outstanding mountain walking includes an ascent of the Pyrenees' highest peak, Pico de Aneto. At 3,404 metres Aneto boasts one of the few remaining glaciers in the Iberian Peninsular and is a spectacular, relatively easy, roped and cramponed climb from the Renclusa Refuge. The week's programme gives us two upbeat days on the French side of the frontier followed by a 3-day expedition to the Spanish side to make our ascent. Five nights are spent at the recently refurbished Mountain Lodge, La Feniere, which has been one of our most popular basis since 1991. The other 2 nights are spent at the also refurbished Renclusa Refuge that now boasts indoor loos and hot showers!
