SUMMIT AND RIDGES OF THE EASTERN PYRENEES

An exciting week of peaks and ridges from the comfort of a mountain lodge
The Pyrenean mountains near Andorra offer some of the wildest and least trekked peaks in western Europe. This week is all about getting up into the high mountains, bagging peaks and enjoying breathtaking views over this picturesque land of rugged summits, knife-edge ridges and colourful lakes. Based in a comfortable chalet in the spa town of Ax-Les-Thermes, there are more than 30 peaks within short transfer distance of our front door. Each day there will be between 1000m and 1700m of ascent, with some extended sections without paths where you can expect to encounter boulder fields, scree slopes, snow patches and some sections of easy 'hands on' scrambling. Straddling the River Ariège, Ax provides us with a welcome contrast in both climate and scenery to that of the wild mountains which we will be exploring during the days trekking.

| Day 6 - 7 |
Two more days walking. |
