Essential Information
Trip Profile
5 days centre-based walking with vehicle support, 1 free day. Altitude maximum 2525m, average 1525m.
Accommodation
7 nights chalet; all rooms en suite.
Food
All breakfasts, 5 picnic lunches and 6 dinners included.
Reality Check
Five days walking with transport to and from walks. Maximum altitude 2525m, average 1525m.
Walking Conditions Although some of the days are quite long, sometimes involving an ascent of 900/1000m followed by a similar descent, the walking paths are well maintained. Because of the quality of the trails, the general 'civilisation' of the area and the relative shortness of the trek we rate it as a Grade B. Days average about seven hours of actual walking and up to nine miles in distance.
The trek should be within the capabilities of anyone in normal good health, who is reasonably fit. The route throughout is non-technical and no special skills or equipment are required, though treks early and late in the year may encounter some snow lying on the higher passes.
Normal group size and age
Normally 1 to 15, plus leader. Minimum age 16.
Misc
Chalet Savoy, Les Houches. A homely chalet run by Oliver and Elaine Ensor for almost 20 years, the chalet is perched on the hillside above the charming village of Les Houches, just a few minutes walk from the Chamonix/Les Houches world cup ski fields and the village cross-country trails. Bedrooms are both in the main house and the newly renovated adjoining building. All rooms have private facilities, and some have balconies. There is also an outdoor hot tub that can be used to relax tired muscles after a days activities.
The chalet has a dining room, a comfortable wood-panelled lounge opening onto 2 balconies, and a fireplace room where tea, coffee and drinks are available from a self-service bar. There is also free unlimited high speed Internet on the chalet computer, Wi-Fi connection and satellite TV. Two friendly but fairly elusive cats live in the chalet.

The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
No experience is necessary; those who take weekend hill walks in areas like the Peak District or Cotswold’s at home should manage a B-grade trek; good health and reasonable fitness are important. These Moderately graded departures are either fairly easy medium-duration walks or harder, shorter walks.
Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.
