A fantastic holiday with an extremely well thought out itinery.  Each day was very different; always very enjoyable and with great views of the Mont Blanc Massif.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Breathtaking views combined with Oliver's knowledge and Mont Blanc climbing stories.
What did you think of your group leader?
Oliver and Elaine make a wonderful team.  We were extremely well looked after: great hearty food, clear guiding, positive leading etc.  They are both possibly insane, but in a good way: lots of laughter and encouragement.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
We were there when it was very warm so having enough water was important; we found camel-backs (or similar) far better than bottles to help us keep continually well hydrated.  Also, it is a walking holiday, so do be prepared for some long days.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
This was an unforgettable holiday: great accommodation, great food, great walking.  We'd love to go back at some point, perhaps even in the winter to see it in a different light (or lack thereof).  Boom, boom.

I have done a lot of walking holidays before, but this was certainly one of the best.  Superb organistion, excellent walks with stunning scenery plus we had amazing weather which made a big difference of course.  The Chalet Savoy is very comfortable and homely, quite different from an impersonal hotel.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
A young ibex appeared by the path and seemed completely unconcerned by our presence as it "posed" for photos.  The views of Mont Blanc, especially on the last day, were also pretty remarkable.
What did you think of your group leader?
Oliver was the best walking leader I have experienced.  He set an excellent steady pace which everyone was able to keep up with.  He was a fund of information especially about the alpine flowers and the mountains.  He also kept us entertained with a stream of appalling jokes!  The organisation of each days walking was brilliant, ending at a  suitable stopping place where we could enjoy refreshments while he went to retrieve the van.  Elaine looked after us superbly and cooked up tasty and generous meals each evening.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
It would probably be best to avoid the first two weeks in August if possible as this is the main French holiday time and Chamonix was very busy.  This didn't spoil the walks, apart from Lac Blanc which was rather disappointing as it was so crowded.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Don't be put off by some previous comments that this is more a Grade C than a B.  Although there is a lot of quite steep ascent and descent, the nice steady pace set by Oliver meant that all our group found they were able to cope quite easily.  So long as you are reasonably fit go for it, you won't regret it.

Best holiday ever, would highly recommend it to anyone, but make sure you have done some training as some steep tracks up and down plus walking for up to 8 hrs,but well worth it the scenery is awesome.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Setting off on the last day in thunder and lightning and torrential rain. But was worth it as we got above the clouds.

Also on the day we went to lac blanc the weather was just perfect letting us see the whole mountain range and the top of mt blanc.

What did you think of your group leader?

Oliver led a great pace, was very well informed about the flowers as you will find out on the first day!

His jokes are never ending though a lot of one liners.BOM BOOM!

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

If this is your first time ,make sure you have done some training with some hill walking involved.

We trained on the mourne mts in n.ireland and it paid off we were able to enjoy it better. It is graded as a b I would say it would be quite a hard b but with some training should be no bother.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

The group were great, most of us got on  very well and have kept in contact since maby getting them over to n.ireland to walk the mournes.

We enjoyed the day off as we first went to anacey then were back in time to go up to aiguille du midi.

There was no negitive things I could say about the trip and would like to try other exodus trips in the future,so go ahead and have the time of your life.

An excellent holiday, the accommadation was great, stunning location. Food was brilliant, plenty to eat and drink. Oliver was a great guide who certainly knew his stuff and all the best stops for cake and coffee. The hot tub after at the chalet was just fabulous.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
My birthday, Oliver announced my birthday when enjoying a view of Mont Blanc and the whole group sang 'Happy Birthday', then to top it off a home made Birthday cake and wine on return to the chalet. Thank you, oh and the walking was superb!
What did you think of your group leader?
Oliver was every thing a guide should be, he knew when to stop and wait for the slower walkers. Listened to peoples needs and wishes, took us the the finest refuges for cake and coffee, new every flower and every mountain. Truly a man who loves his job.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
GO!! Its an excellent week, worth every penny. Even if just for the hot tub.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thank you exedous, thank you every one that went on the trip. Made some great friends and had a great time.

Excellent holiday. Great hosts, great group of people on the trip and fantastic scenery. As it states in other reviews, this is probably more of a "C" than a "B" grade. I've done a few Exodus walking trips and this one proved more challenging that what I imagined although the pace set by the guide was excellent. I would give this trip 4.5 stars, the only downside is that, coming back down each day from the mountain can be a bit of a slog and there is not much scenery to view when you are plodding down through the trees and carefully looking at your feet to make sure you don't end up on your backside. Also, it can be testing on your knees.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The Italian side of Mont Blanc was quite scenic as was the last day where we had great views of Mont Blanc and the glaciers.
What did you think of your group leader?

As I said I have been on a few Exodus walking and treking holidays and I would say with all honesty that Oliver is the best guide I've come across to date. He sets an excellent pace and keeps you fully informed on each trek with the history, local environmental knowledge and of course his jokes.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

If you have dodgy knees it may pose a problem as coming down the moutain each day can be quite testing on you joints.

When it clouds over it can cool down quite quickly so make sure you take the appropriate clothing.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Only that the weather makes this trip. If you are unfortunate enough to endure cloudy weather, the walks can become a bit of a slog if the mountains are hidden in the clouds. So hopefully, you will experience mostly cloudless days.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The 72yr old who kept us with us all!
What did you think of your group leader?
Amazing!!  Great fun and could communicate on all levels.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Yes, it definitely wasn't a walk in the park.  Make sure you are fit.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Only that I can't wait to book my next trip.

A thoroughly enjoyable week.  The scenery and location cannot be bettered and the routes that are selected are excellent - you feel you are really in the mountains, yet the walking is not too onerous and the paths are all very well established.  But what makes the holiday special is your hosts who are a fantastic double act.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Walking along the amazing balcony paths high on the side of the mountains looking at the impossible ridges and pinnacles of Mont Blanc - and then finding a small refuge that serves cold beer and fruit tarts just in time for lunch.  And then afterwards, soaking in the hot tub in the garden looking at the snow capped peaks.
What did you think of your group leader?

The best.  Knew exactly how fast to lead the group so that everyone managed the full week, even the less fit amongst us !  All the days ran like clockwork, and he ensured we got the best out of all of the days.  As well as being a font of all knowledge, he is also the source of more shocking jokes than anyone I know.  And don't forget Elaine at the Chalet who produces very high standard of meals and comfort.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Be sure you read the notes and understand what effort is involved.  Although there are many shortcuts and "options" you need to have some walking fitness to fully enjoy it all.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Look out for Momma !  All will become clear...
