Reality Check
This long and tough trek is graded C, and should be seen as one of the tougher C grade treks we offer.
You should be confident of your fitness and ability to walk long days consecutively. The longest day is approx 10 hours (including stops), and most other days are 7-8 hours (including stops).
Though the trek is strenuous, it is not a route march and there are rest days. The trail is well way-marked, so where the leader indicates it may be possible for the group to walk independently at times. The trail is generally of good quality, although you will encounter steep rocky ascents and descents. There are some short sections along minor roads. There are 3 days (3, 4 and 5) of what is generally termed as ‘light backpacking’, where we carry all we require in our backpacks, as the mountain huts have no vehicle access. Clients will need to carry a sleeping bag liner, a few spare clothes and small washkit, as well as the picnic lunch.
Estimated total length: 180-200 km. Average distance per day: 17 km. Average ascent per day: 1000 meters. 6 days with more than 1000 meters of ascent.
Group size and age
Min. 10, max. 16, plus leader and support driver. Minimum age 18.
Icons explained
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
Fitness is important and you may have to improve yours before departure. Most treks at this grade compare to extended walking in mountainous terrain such as the Lakes of Snowdonia, but usually at significantly higher altitudes; climate and remoteness can also play a part. Previous trekking experience is desirable, but not vital if you are confident of your physical condition.
Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.
