Itinerary
- Day 1
- Fly to Geneva, transfer to Zermatt.
- Day 2
- A short transfer to the Tasch Alp from where we trek to Flue Alp (2607m) with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks.
- Day 3
- Morning trekking towards the imposing Gorner Glacier; visit the glacier garden before continuing our descent to Zermatt.
- Day 4
- A demanding walk as we climb again out of the valley, ascending slowly to the Rothorn Hut (3198m), situated above a glacier with great views of the Monte Rosa massif.
- Day 5
- High level traverse to Schonbiel Hut (2694m) under the soaring north face of the Matterhorn.
- Day 6
- Return to Zermatt by early afternoon, with a possible side trip to the Hornli Hut, basecamp for climbers attempting the Matterhorn.
- Day 7
- Free day in Zermatt. Option to undertake the non-technical ascent of the Breithorn (4164m).
- Day 8
- Transfer to Geneva, fly to London.
