This trip has been graded as leisurely/moderate. Previous trekking experience is desirable but not vital as long as you are confident of your physical condition. Your leader will be able to offer you further advice about the walks. Whilst camping in Wadi Rum please be aware that although the campsite does have plumbed toilets and running water there are no showers and facilities are basic.
Ramadan The holy month of Ramadan runs from 24th June to 27th July in 2014. During this time the opening hours to sites and museums may be affected by an hour or two. The leader will be aware of this and adapt your day to accommodate this. Purchasing snacks and meals during the day may also be affected slightly. It does need to be recognised that the energy levels of our local staff may be a bit lower during this period. Having said this, Ramadan is a unique time to visit a Muslim country - each evening the streets empty for an hour while everyone breaks their fast, and there's a feeling of festivity in the air every night.
Normal group size and age
Normally 6 to 14, plus leader and local staff Minimum age 16.
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together. All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please see our Solo Departures page.
No experience is necessary; those who take weekend hill walks in areas like the Peak District or Cotswold’s at home should manage a B-grade trek; good health and reasonable fitness are important. These Moderately graded departures are either fairly easy medium-duration walks or harder, shorter walks.
Exodus is always looking to improve our current itineraries and to offer something different. With many new trips this year, there is something unique and different to try every year.
Walking & Trekking: Trips are wholly trekking-focused or simply include a significant number of walking days during the itinerary.
Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
