The trip was a wonderful adventure. Magnificent landscape that changed as we trekked through it  and an itinery that allowed the best chance to acclimatize for the big day getting to the summit. Everything was so well organised, food, accommodation, tents, park admission and guiding, leaving us to be able to concentrate on enjoying the time on the mountains. Every thing needed was in the kit list and joining instructions and the guides , cook and porters were so friendly and helpful.  Great trip

An amazing experience that i did not want to end. The level of care and attention to detail through the whole trip was second to none. It was so inspiring that i am already planning my next trip with exodus.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The most inspirational moments are with out doubt the two summit days. You start of in the dark and before you know it you are near the summit with the sun coming up and a huge sense of acheviement that you made it. The views from both summits will take your breath away.
What did you think of your group leader?
Naiman was excellant, every thing was well organised and we all were looked after so well. At no point did any one feel that we could not do it and each person intervidual needs were meet. No one felt rushed or felt that they were holding back the rest of the group. Robinson, Joesph and Ruben the other guids on our Kilimanjaro part were extremely friendly and helpful and very easy to talk too.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Book the trip now its worth every penny. Take some snacks for summit days. Makes sure you can carry more that 2 litres of water as we were all getting through more than 3litres on the longer days.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I had the most amazing experience which is down to the level of detail put into the making of the trip, thank you Exodus and The African Walking company.

Fantastic scenery, wonderful team of porters and guides, great company from the 4 other people in my group.  We were also very lucky with the weather:)  A fantastic ouside the box trip which I would definitely recommend.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Probably summitting Uhuru point on Kili.  It was very moving to reach the top.  I was very grateful to our assistant guide Venance and the other person I ascended with for hanging in there with me!
What did you think of your group leader?
I felt overall he was good however, he did slightly develop a favorite person in the group which I felt was maybe slightly unprofessional or unfair on some of the other members in the group who might have benefited from special attention too.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Deet mosquito repellent - I forgot to buy it before arriving in Tanzania and it's not available there.  Positive attitude and good fitness will really help you get the most out of the trip.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Climbing meru really helps with acclimatisation however it means you start Kili slightly tired from the rapid descent from Meru (or I did anyway!).  So in some ways perhaps only one mountain is necessary if your time is limited.  However I really enjoyed climbing Meru and in some ways it was more beautiful that Kili.  Fantastic trip!

A wonderful experience- but you do need to be fit to cope with the final ascents of both these mountains

Tanzania   a wonderful country .  because the mountains  are so different from one another  .It was like two separate trips. but if anyone thinks that Meru is the easy option ,before you try your luck  ,on killi think again. MERU is a mountain in its own rite , and people struggled with the final summit day, a totally different landscape to Killi . but it certainly helps with acclimatization

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
reaching the summits on both  Meru and Killi , especially as I had tried, once before  on killi ,and didnt make it .But also this time that everyone in this group made the summits some of us a bit latter then others but we all got there. couldnt have done it without the guides  ,a big thank you guys.
What did you think of your group leader?
Abraham was the group leader and he did a great job , he was friendly knowledgeable, well organised and nothing was to much trouble. as were the  guides Hans  Julious on meru. Nicholas  and Fransies on killi and Nemmis and the cook Robert on both. and to many porters to mention  a great team all round.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
listen to the guides , even though they seem to want you to drink a impossible  amount of water . staying hydrated and going pole pole is the name of the game.  If  you have a favourite snack, (mars / twix) make sure you take some for both of the summit days.  2/3 don't worry about the calories. and but then in your pockets  and open them before you leave camp that way you wont have to take your gloves off in the freezing cold. and keep your camera close to your body it will stop batteries freezing.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
the use of  the african walking company a local firm  well done exodus you choose  a good company there. all the staff  leaders, guides, porters, cook , drivers couldnt fault them . they made this holiday.  all the hard work that they but in  really made the differance from a good holiday to a brillient one anyone thinking of going on this trip go for it. and if your lucky youll get robert as your  cook.

a disapointing start was the flight kenyan airways is not the best, but once we arrived at Tanzania it got better, the guides were fantastic really looked after us all, could not fault anyone. One of the highlights of the trip was the last day on Meru the walk back to the gate seeing the wildlife was amazing (a free safari). The hotal we stayed in, in Kilimanjaro was excelllent. Kili it self was an experience I have treked in the Himalayas twice, Everest Base Camp and Mera Peak and all treks have been different, kili was tougher than I imagined but managable especially when working with an experienced team. I would recommend Exodus as they are an experienced company and employ excellent guides. A huge thank you to Niaman, Julios, Elle, David, Stanley and Johnson the cook and all porters. Not one of our group got sick, that shows how hygiene in the kitchen is a must, so thanks again to Johnson. All ten in our group got to both summits. EXCELLENT!!!!!ROSEMARIE CRELLIN ISLE OF MAN

SEEING WILD LIFE AND SUMMITING TWO PEAKS WITHIN A WEEK 13 DAYS IS A MUST.
What did you think of your group leader?
NIAMAN WAS FANTASTIC HE NEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND GUIDED US WITH EXPERIENCE AND HAS A GREAT TEAM WORKING ALONG SIDE HIM
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
GO FOR THE 13 DAY PACKAGE IT GIVES YOU MORE TIME TO BOND AS A TEAM AND ACLIMATISE
Is there anything else you would like to add?
CHANGE YOUR AIRLINE IF YOU STAY WITH KENYA AIRWAYS IT WOULD PUT MANY A PERSON OF GOING BACK THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS DISGUSTING.

    Exodus Response

I am sorry to hear that Rosemarie did not enjoy the Kenya Airways flight. Having travelled with them many times I have always enjoyed their in flight service. We use Kenyan Airways on numerous East African trips and usually receive positive feedback from our passengers.
