Trekking in the Drakensberg and game-viewing in Kruger N.P.

Combining game tracking in private reserves, hiking in the mountains and game drives in national parks, this walking safari reveals the immense variety on offer in South Africa's Eastern lands.
We spend several days hiking through the dramatic scenery of the Drakensberg Mountains, the hilly Kingdom of Swaziland and the lesser visited forests of Mpumalanga. A definite highlight of this trip is tracking game on foot in private reserves experiencing the thrill of close encounters with animals on equal footing.
There are also game drives in the famous Kruger National Park as well as a boat-tour in St. Lucia. On two feet is definitely one of the best ways to experience the wilds of Africa.
What makes this trip responsible?
Our leaders advise on various issues locally to help us reduce our environmental impact whilst ensuring the local community benefits from our visit - for example, where to shop and what to buy (or not to buy), how to behave in a culturally sensitive way and to enforce a responsible litter policy. We use locally trained grooms in each of the areas visited, which directly benefits the local communities. The trip spends several nights in Nature Reserves (Kruger National Park, Malolotja Nature Reserve, Mkuzi Game Reserve and Edeni Game Reserve) where paid fees go directly towards conservation. In addition, we make day trips to the Royal Natal National Park where entry fees help support the conservation of this park. We also have the opportunity to visit, and therefore support, a local reptile conservation park.
