An Evening of Winter Activities with Exodus
20th September 2008
Dogsledding in Lapland, Snowshoeing in the Pyrenees, Mountain ski-touring in Norway, and a journey to the North Pole on skis.
Is it slowly dawning on you that a winter holiday can be so much more than a ski trip to a 'pile-em-high' resort? Well we agree. In fact, we have been running alternative snow-based winter adventures for years. To inspire this new breed of winter adventurers, we have pulled together a panel of experts to talk about their favourite winter destinations. Mike James, Exodus' Winter Programme Manager has led winter trips for Exodus for years and has been the driving force behind our winter programme. He will talk about his journeys to Lapland, including a dogsledding adventure, the Icehotel and viewing the Northern Lights. He will also reminisce on his time guiding snowshoeing in the Pyrenees. Jason Baldaro, Exodus Norway expert, will talk about the adventurous sport of mountain ski-touring and our award winning cross-country programme in Norway. The evening will also include a short presentation by Exodus leader, Helen Turton, re-living her adventures as a guide on ski trips to the north pole, and her recent successful south pole expedition.
