The Secrets of Egypt Revealed

A new series on Channel Five beginning on the Thursday 13th November at 8pm seeks to answer some of the mysteries of ancient Egypt.

The Screaming ManOne such great mystery is that of the Screaming Man who's identity has been unknown for more than 120 years.

Found in the same unmarked tomb as Rameses the Great - the 3rd King of the 19th Dynasty and responsible for building great temples including Abu Simbel and his own mortuary temple at Thebes - the Screaming Man's hands and feet are bound and his face is locked in an eternal wail of pain but until now no-one has been able to identify him or explain why he was buried with Rameses. For the first time in 120 years, thanks to CT scans, X-rays and facial reconstruction - the mummy has been studied in detail.

Anyone with an interest in history and Egyptology will find this series fascinating.

We are pleased to announce that from 2009 all Exodus' trips to Egypt will either be led by or accompanied by a qualified Egyptologist.
