Short Break to Lebanon

After a period of instability as a result of the conflict with Israel, it is great to see that visitors are once again flocking to visit this land of ancient temples on the edge of the Mediterranean.

Byblos ruinsAlthough one of the smallest countries in the Middle East, Lebanon is certainly one of the most interesting and beautiful - rich in history, culture and ancient sites. The spectacular Roman site of Baalbek with its huge foundation stones and beautifully-crafted temples is one of the finest in the world. However it's the stunning scenery that acts as backdrop to these sites that sets Lebanon apart. The Mediterranean coastline accentuates the beauty of the charming town of Byblos (now known as Jbeil). With over 4000 years of history contained within the town's crusader walls it is thought by many to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world.

We've just introduced a new short break holiday to Lebanon over 5 days that visits the historical highlights but also allows for time spent in the vibrant city of Beirut - described by some as the party town of the Middle East!
