Tragic death of leader in Venezuela

Roberto CampanoWe were very saddened to hear of the tragic and untimely death of Roberto Campano, one of our tour leaders in Venezuela, following a motorcycle accident in March. Roberto led many Exodus groups to the top of Venezuela’s Mt Roraima.

From his roots as a surfer and motocross fanatic on the Caribbean Island of Margarita, Roberto moved to the Gran Sabana region to become an experienced and well-loved tour leader who cared deeply for the fragile ecosystems of the Canaima National Park and who summited Roraima over 130 times throughout his career. Approachable and friendly, Roberto was always ready to offer advice and words of encouragement to trekkers and also to less experienced guides as they made their first steps in the tourism industry. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues, as well as by all those fortunate enough to have been taken on a voyage of discovery around his adopted home in the Venezuelan interior.
