Celebrities to Trek Inca Trail for Charity

Following on from their Kilimanjaro trek for Comic Relief last year, Radio and TV celebrity trekkers will once again don their hiking boots for charity, this time along Peru’s Inca Trail.

Overlooking Machu Picchu, PeruTo raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care, the intrepid celebs have enlisted a few famous friends to join them on their challenge in Peru.

Taking place in September, their 80km high altitude challenge through the Andes range and the Amazon rainforest will be shown in a two-part documentary on ITV2 on 24 September.

Following the Inca Trail all the way to the magnificent Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, the group will have to negotiate some steep climbs as well as battle the effects of altitude. Last year saw some of these celbs summit Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, on a trip organised by Exodus’ local team.

We have been operating Inca Trail trips for more than 25 years and we know all the little extras that make a great trek an incredible trek. Plus, our local partner was recently awarded the accolade of Best Regional Operator from the Peruvian Ministry of Tourism for the 6th year in a row!

As Inca Trail permits are so limited yet in very high demand, we have launched the Moonstone Trek option. This alternative route follows a more remote trail to Machu Picchu and no permit is required.
