India: Ladakh and Zanskar flooding

Unusually this year's monsoon rains have reached the high Himalayan regions of Ladakh and Zanskar. Heavy cloudbursts led to catastrophic flash floods, most notably in and around the region's capital Leh, where over 100 people were killed.

Help for the people of Ladakh

The Exodus Himalayan Community Support project supports development work all over the Himalayas, includung a number of projects in Ladakh and the Marka Valley. Our Himalayan expert, Valerie Parkinson is currently in Ladakh, and will arrange for future donations to include help for those affected by the floods.
