Swimming across the Solent

Exodus and Global Ethics, the company behind the brand ‘One’ have formed an exciting new partnership to support the One Foundation (registered charity No: 1118810). The One Foundation sells a variety of not-for-profit products to raise money for well-building projects in parts of the world where people don’t currently have access to clean water. They started off by selling bottled water (available in a range of retail outlets including Morrisons, Waitrose, the Co-Op and Total petrol stations) but now have many other products including loo roll, handwash and filter jugs. To date One have raised over £5 million and have helped over 1 million people.

To raise funds for the One foundation, Exodus' staff are taking on all sorts of charity activities. On the 9th September Exodus' Olly Pemberton will be embarking on a sponsored swim across the Solent, a very challenging open water swim. The distance is approx 2.5 - 3 miles depending on the tide/wind and the water is cold. And of course it's one of the busiest shipping channels in the UK!

Olly says: "At approximately 09.00 hours, on what will probably turn out to be a miserably wet and windy September morning, my good friend Morgan and I will be wading into the Solent strait to embark on an endurance swim to the Isle of Wight. With the aid of a support vessel and canoeists we will attempt to best these treacherous waters by swimming across the 7km from Gosport in England to Ryde Sands in the Isle of Wight."
