A Marathon to Remember....

I am pleased to say that I managed to complete the 26 miles of the Engadine Ski Marathon in one piece! The weather wasn't great and by half way through the tracks had disintegrated to slush but overall it was an amazing experience. The locals were out in force to support the competitors, cheering and handing out fruit and drinks and there was the odd fancy dress costume from the less serious competitors. The professional athletes achieved some impressive times despite the poor conditions, with the top man finishing in 1hr 39 and the top woman 1hr 48, both skiing in skate style. I completed the course on classic skis and was thrilled to make it in 4hrs 49 (I had predicted it would take 6 hrs!). Also skiing the race were 13 Exodus clients and Eric Woolley the leader who all finished the race in good time. A fantastic week and actual race day was had by all, my only worry now is that I may be hooked....Konig Ludwig race next year anyone??
