Thailand Floods

Update: 9am 15 November 2011

In recent weeks, a number of provinces in Thailand have been affected with severe flooding and the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office has also been advising against travel to large parts of the country, including the capital. We have been ammending itineraries to avoid affected areas, including Bangkok city, and, while this was still a developing situation, we remained hopeful that the outlook would improve and that the FCO would update their advice as required.

On Monday 14th November, the FCO revised their advice to say that, while they still advise caution, they no longer advise against travel to the affected areas. We have gotten full assurances from our local agents that the tours can operate according to the itinerary, and we now plan to run all upcoming trips to Thailand as normal.

Our Standard Policy on Travel Security

Our overall policy towards security advice from the FCO is shown below:

• We will always follow FCO advice, and we will not operate tours to areas where the advice is against all non-essential travel. Where we cancel tours for this reason, passengers will be offered a transfer to an alternative tour or a full refund.
• Decisions about when to cancel or re-route upcoming tours are made on a rolling basis, as the advice can change at any time. Where the advice for a country is temporarily against all non-essential travel, we will not normally cancel tours more than 2 weeks before the date of travel.
• The safety of our clients is always our highest concern and we will continue to monitor the situation. Updates will be added to this web page as and when they become available.
