Inca Trail permit update

Updated: 23/04/2012 - Since we published the news below, all Inca Trail permits for August have now sold out, and most departures in September are looking very busy – if you’re still considering a trip in September, book now to avoid disappointment!

Permits to trek the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu are always in demand, and 2012 is no exception. Permits are completely sold out for treks starting on or before 23 August, and there is limited availability up to the end of September. We expect this demand to continue and therefore if you are planning to book an Inca Trail trip this year you should not delay if you wish to secure permits for your preferred date.

For trips where there are no permits remaining, we put a note in the Dates & Prices section to indicate that this is the case, and on most of our trips we are able to offer the remote and beautiful Moonstone Trek in place of the Inca Trail – this will also be indicated in the Dates & Prices section.

Alternatively, we offer several trekking itineraries in Peru which follow completely different routes and are not subject to Inca Trail permit availability - these include the fascinating Choquequirao trek, extended treks through the Cordilleras Blanca and Huayhuash in Central Peru, and the spectacular Ausangate Circuit.
