Mara Watch 2012
12th September 2012
One of his closest colleagues at Exodus refers to him as 'Marmite'. Now whether you love him or hate him, and many do both, you will find it hard to demean his images or criticise his passion for East Africa. Of all the areas he guides in, Spitsbergen and particularly the Masai Mara are his favourites and the ones he is most strident about.
Join Paul for a one-off charity evening on the 26th November 2012 at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, to help raise money for the Cattle Boma Project.
He says this about the evening "People are not going to come along to just watch me peddle the same old pictures and stories. This November all the images will be from this year - new images, new anecdotes, new people to be offended."
Paul has just 'spotted' an unusual zebra in the Mara. He says that in all his 25 years in the wilds of Africa, he has never seen a zebra with such an unusual coat. Read the full story and view the amazing images on the Mail Online.
The Mail Online, Telegraph and Metro have been showcasing his images to a few million, on the 26th of November he will be talking to just 400.
95% of images will be from his safari this year and it promises to be a spectacular evening. Paul’s safaris are booked way in advance with an astonishing repeat booking rate. Hundreds come back, keen to keep searching for that elusive wildlife and photographic grail.
This year he says “I keep expecting our luck to run out but I cannot ever remember having so many extraordinary sightings. Patience, sensitivity and fieldcraft really do pay dividends”.
This will not be a 'normal' evening, this is not a 'normal' presenter.
Tickets will now be available to buy on the door. Tickets cost £12 (all profits go to Friends of Conservation, Kenya Mara Boma Cattle Project, registered Charity 328176).
