The eagerly awaited five-part series, Africa, starts tonight, Wednesday 2nd January, on BBC1 at 9pm.

Starting with the Kalahari and Namib deserts, each breathtaking episode will focus on a different region of this magnificently wild continent, revealing its dramatic landscapes and unlocking fascinating secrets about the remarkable creatures that reside within.

So, if you are looking for some 2013 travel inspiration, or simply love wildlife, make sure you tune in at 9pm each Wednesday throughout January – it is sure to be compulsive viewing. Enjoy!
