Our responsible Tourism Achievements in 2009
India Bandhavgarh Tiger Project - £4,100 towards the cost of purchasing a jeep for the National Park, as well as some bicycles, for use by the rangers.
Himalayan Community Project - £18,000 which has enabled Exodus to sponsor three teachers and supply furniture and books to three local schools and buy and install a further 25 solar cookers across different regions of Nepal, amongst other activity.
Kiya Survivors Peru, Rainbow Centre - £3,300 which has gone towards the monthly upkeep of the Rainbow shop which produces T shirts, mosaics and ceramics, and pizzas for sale to visitors, as well as getting the outreach vehicle back on the road.
Kenya Masai Community Project - £7,000 towards maintenance works to the local school building, and the purchasing of essential equipment for the maternity ward and dental surgery at the nearby health clinic.

Peru - Inca Trail - 23rd June 2010 Spend a day on a project with the kids at the Rainbow Centre, Peru, one of the Kiya Survivors' sites and then hike the beautiful Inca Trail to help them out financially.
Tanzania - Kilimanjaro Climb - Rongai Route - 9th July 2010 Follow in the footsteps of 2009's Red Nose Day climbers and raise money for Plan's Smokeless Stove Project with the same team that took the BBC's celebrities to the top. Morocco - Mt Toubkal Climb - 26th September 2010 Summit North Africa's highest peak for the Tijhza Valley Project, Morocco and raise money to support the sustainable future of this remote valley community. Nepal - Everest Base Camp - 28th November 2010 Help us install an eco-friendly solar cooker on your way to the world's highest mountain whilst fundraising for the Himalaya Community Support Project, Nepal. |

Short Haul Poland – offers superb value being outside the Euro zone and is a great all year round destination offering summer walking and winter snowshoeing Morocco and Egypt - currently 80% up Y0Y – recovering from a decline in passengers in 2009. Our customers Longhaul Kilimanjaro – The Comic Relief effect means that we have seen growth in the region of 400% Sri Lanka – there is renewed interest in this destination following the peace settlement last year and we have introduced two new itineraries to meet this demand – Leopards & Whales trip and a cycling holiday Nepal – more settled political situation and it offers great value for money Cuba - performing very strongly, we have a product that is priced very competitively and uses the Virgin non-stop flights to Havana. China – the destination seems to have benefited from hosting the Olympics last year. Polar regions – despite the credit crunch there are people out there willing to spend large amounts of money and commit their spend very early - Polar is 17% up YoY. |
