Photographs taken at or around the Rondablikk Hotel during the last week of March. I found the beginner's cross-country skiing tough (perhaps 3x as demanding as downhill skiing) and you acquire quite an appetite. This is despite doing short distance cycling during the weeks running up to the trip! However, I still enjoyed the trip very much. In the morning you may need 30mins to unstiffen and find your rhythm before you feel you are gliding along, but meanwhile relax and take in the scenery. At the end of the day you will have earned that sauna and that "snickers cake". Try dogsledding if you get the opportunity. The owners race the dogs in winter events and look after them well. Both owners and dogs are good natured! You help set up your team of husky crosses and ride your own sledge. Don't underestimate their strength and willingness to run - you will need those brakes!
