Following the successful first year of our innovative Adventure Pioneers competition in 2009, we are again offering you the chance to design your own adventure travel holiday.

The competition is simple: design the ultimate small group adventure, and the best of the best will be turned into an Exodus trip for the 2010/2011 season; then you and up to three friends will travel free on the very first departure!

What you need to decide

Some of your friends1. Who your travelling companions will be. You'll need to register them into the competition by giving us their name, email and postal address.
2. What type of holiday you'd like to design (e.g. walking, cycling, winter activity, cultural or wildlife).
3. Where in the world will your trip be based?
4. What will be the ideal duration of your trip? (Maximum 16 days.)
5. The perfect itinerary for your trip.

The things that make our trips successful

All entries will be judged by our expert Product Team and their decision will be final. We'll be looking for:

Originality: we're looking for something completely unique,so you'll score big bonus points if you use your creativity.
Product appeal: the winning trip will be sold publicly by Exodus and we hope that other travellers will want to take your trip.
Feasibility: all trips are designed to represent value for money, so make sure the trip is commercially viable!
Sustainability: all our trips follow our Responsible Cilo-Sat mountains, Turkish KurdistanTourism principles.

For inspiration check out the 2009 winning itinerary - Istanbul to Tehran (ATP) or have a look at some of the new trips we launched this year (marked with a 'new' symbol in the brochures and on our website).

A few words from last year's winner

Adventure Pioneers - Istanbul to Tehran (ATP)

By Nicola Watson
Nicola in TehranI read an article about the Trans Asia Express and immediately wanted to take the rail journey from Istanbul to Tehran.
Exodus already ran a trip to the main sites in Iran but going there slowly by rail and absorbing the landscape close up seemed the perfect way to travel. Fortunately the judges of the Adventure Pioneers competition thought the same!

The Trans Asia Express leaves Istanbul at nearly midnight and is clean and comfortable. The dining car was a delight and the
food was beautifully cooked and presented. The Iranians were in relaxed mood. They were keen to chat and we did our best to communicate with the aid of the phrase book.

We arrived at the ferry terminal on Lake Van at about 6.00pm on our third evening and set off about an hour later. The large Iranian who runs the catering side sold vast quantities of olive oil and chocolate through the serving hatch. Then, giving in to loud clapping and demands from the passengers, he put on some Persian music and the dancing began. The dancing ebbed and flowed, sometimes in the cabin and sometimes on deck. On deck, people drew white, plastic chairs into tight circles and talked earnestly, then laughter would break out and hapless victims (yes, reader, I was one of them) were dragged into the middle of cheering Iranians to dance.

Did the trip live up to expectations? Absolutely. Should you think about going? Absolutely.
