Antarctica Experts

Sarah, Exodus Polar Expeditions ExpertSarah Ahern, Exodus Polar Product Manager
Sarah first travelled to Antarctica in 2004, and fell in love with the isolation, the beauty and the sheer numbers and proximity of the wildlife... 'I've watched a leopard seal kill a penguin two feet from the zodiac, had whales spy hopping next to the ship, and even seen a penguin take a nap on passenger life jackets!' Sarah has travelled to both sides of the Antarctic Peninsula and at each end of the season.

Mike James Exodus Operations DirectorMike James, Exodus Operations Director
Mike spent 5 years leading Exodus walking, cycling and snowshoeing trips. These days he keeps a careful eye on all our holidays in his role as Operations Director. Mike travelled to Antarctica in 2008 and was delighted with the experience. He says, 'The expedition team and ship's crew were incredibly professional, yet always approachable. This personal touch makes Quark and Exodus the perfect match for the Polar Regions'.

Arctic Experts

Paul, Exodus Polar Expeditions ExpertPaul Goldstein, Expedition Leader, Exodus guide and award-winning photographer
Paul Goldstein has often said that he is happiest on the plains of the Masai Mara or the decks of one of the Polar ships. Having completed almost twenty expeditions, his choice for our summer months is Spitsbergen, a programme he pioneered six years ago for Exodus. Exodus is now the market leaders in small ship voyages there. Paul has a ridiculous amount of energy and is, as the Sunday Times described him, 'a preposterously vivacious guide of almost psychotic gusto'.

Carl, Exodus Polar Expeditions ExpertCarl Jackson, Exodus Polar Sales
'For five hours we stared through scopes, binoculars and telephoto lenses into the dazzling white at the moving black specks far in the distance. "Wait and watch the Arctic unfold before you" had been the wise words from our Expedition Leader earlier in the day. They felt almost prophetic as a large male Polar bear lumbered majestically towards the ships bow. It's hard to put into words the privilege of seeing these predators in the wild.'
