GET INVOLVED WITH EXODUS RESPONSIBLE TOURISM PROJECTS
As tourism is one of the most important and largest industries on the planet, we all need to be responsible with our travel and get involved where we can. As a tour operator, Exodus actively selects where we can get involved in projects that deliver practical benefits to the local communities we visit and interact with.

How can you get involved?
Exodus operate special departures that give you the opportunity to get involved with some of our Responsible Tourism projects and to really make a difference to some of the smaller communities we visit. These departures are the perfect combination of travelling to a wonderful country and offering support at the same time, whether this is for education, health or environmental purposes.
Fundraising departures
Some of our standard trips have specific dates highlighted so there is more time to spend at one of our projects and see how these small communities have benefitted from your donations. On our Kilimanjaro Climb – Rongai Route trip, there is one date put aside for you to spend more time at our porter project and see the great work that has been done as well as completing a great feat of trekking Africa’s highest summit. Exodus can arrange sponsor forms or Just Giving pages so you can get your friends to sponsor your next challenge and make a difference to the community visited, please contact us for further details.
Volunteer departures
To really get your hands dirty then why not join our special volunteer departures where we work alongside various communities on schemes they need help with, such as installing a solar cooker, providing much needed medical aid or simply redecorating a classroom. This is a great way to begin your holiday and provides better insight for your journey through another culture. As requested, we take out many items from the UK such as toothbrushes, educational material or old clothes and shoes and then distribute them through local channels to those who need them the most. The best part is seeing how your £50 donation per person (paid locally) is directly used on the projects.
Whether you get involved by joining a special departure or simply making a donation, we thank you for all your support and helping Exodus to make a real and lasting difference to some very real people and environments.
All our 2012 get involved holidays are listed below and for more information, please contact Paula Mason, our special groups expert on 0845 330 6009.
