High Tatra Mountains, Poland

Adventure Holidays to Tatra

The Tatra Mountains forms a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. They occupy an area of 750km², the major part (600km²) of which lies in Slovakia. The highest Tatra peak, at 2655m, is Gerlachovský štít, located in Slovakia, meanwhile Rysy, at 2499m, is the highest Polish peak. Although considerably smaller than the Alps, they are classified as having an alpine landscape and there's a large variety of flora and fauna here. Their high mountain character, combined with great accessibility, makes them popular with walkers and wildlife enthusiasts.
